Warnock - Press conference

I was pleased to hear Warnock’s comments on our up and coming academy players today. He reckons there are 6 or 7 who could be in the first team in 2 seasons. We’ve seen players like Wood and Folarin much more involved this year. Hopefully a few others can progress quickly. I’d love to see Kavanagh step up. It’s far too long since we had a home grown forward in the team regularly.

yeh he seemed to rate our academy players over Cardiff's, saying they had nobody.

Other interesting thing from that interview as that he reads the fan forums (he had hinted before about that) and that it was reading a forum that led him to leave Cardiff. Best not slag him off too much then :)

yeh me too but he does not seem the type to take criticism so badly so they must have really laid into him back then

It all depends on which forum he reads, as to whether he'll get a realistic representation of the fans views; COB is not blessed with much intelligent debate and One Boro is full of frustrated journo's and naval gazers (apologies to the decent posters on there!).

I like to think FMTTM is a decent balance between the two.....

I hope he has a profile on here..... If you do 'hi Neil' 😂

I wouldnt even listen to a woodgate or Pulis press conference. Just read the extracts online in the gazette. I can happily sit and watch the whole 20-25min ones with Warnock. He speaks with such knowledge and often just goes off into a tangent about 'life'.

Just seems a top bloke. He could be in charge for over a year and still not had a Riverside welcome. It's a shame really😒

Great post. Agree one hundred per cent.

Probably the best comment I have ever read in all my years reading fmttm 👏🏻

With crowds dropping pre covid it would be nice to see results on the pitch see huge increase in match day attendances the moment were allowed in .

Totally agree. Big fan of the bloke on a level I've not liked a Boro manager since Mogga - just seems to be a genuinely decent person and has breathed life into a club at risk of being a bit dull for quite a while now. Hope he stays for a long time and I really hope that he doesn't come and go without a proper reception from fans, to show the respect we have for the job he's doing.

Yeah would be a travesty if he wanted to retire at the end of the season and hadn't experienced a good crowd at the Riverside who could show their appreciation. Stay next season Neil 🙏

I think what he's done is level out the disparity between the celebrity football culture and the average fan.

I cant watch Sky Sports News anymore, its a sycophantic deluge of tabloid nonsense and so far removed from reality its almost become a parody of itself.

Warnock is a nice balance to all that seems to be wrong with football these days.
