£20m?? Did I hear that correctly?

So the £60m was rejected by Burnham because he wanted £75m which the govt wouldn't agree to, so the fund to be offered is now £20m

Is that not churlish in the extreme!?

Edit: been confirmed as £22m

But the govt agreed £60m was acceptable, so why reduce it so drastically to £22m?? This is mental!

Because they’re trying to make an example of Andy Burnham for standing up for the people in GM.

The top brass want to send out a message that they won’t let the Northern oiks mess with them. We’ll take what we’re given and be grateful for the scraps they feed us.

And as an aside, is anyone else slightly cringing when Van Tam gets referred to as JVT. It doesn't strike me as particularly professional, similarly Sunak's "thanks PM" last week. He might as well given him a little tug behind the podium, weasley little brown-noser

Yep. Its effectively an assault on northern city regions.

Wait til they do the same to Tees Valley next week, then we'll all be on the same page! It will be this government's miners' strikes moment.

Well the posturing by Burnham has come to no avail.

Burnham done something very few have, challenged this pathetic government.

Billions signed away on a whim to companies with zero due diligence and no negotiations, cheered on by Tory MP's. Burnham and the local leaders wanted a pittance by equivalent, enough to ensure people and businesses can cope through the lockdown, which Boris Johnson could not pallet.

At least enlighten us Randy 😀
They got the first but right with Trump's admission to hospital at some point but he (or his missus) was supposed to pass away from the virus on the 18th.

Alas all that happened that day was Thailand starting protesting stuff and it rained somewhere. 😂

Less than half of what Chris Grayling ***ed up the wall on some ferries that didn't exist.

Shocking, and as others have said it's their thinly veiled message to anyone thinking of standing up to the Bullingdon bully boys...

Come back Plaz, this Randy fella is a whole new level 😉😂

If, as Johnson himself said, the 60 was in line proportionately with the Merseyside and Lancashire economic packages, then by definition 22 is massively disproportionate. That's totally unacceptable

They are going to get the extra money for buisnesses, Burnham is complete fool, another so called leader politicising a pandemic, instead of doing his job

It’s purely political. Lancashire 11 Tory MPs, Greater Manchester 18 Labour. Let that sink in when they’ve offered £22m for 2.8m people and £44m for 1.8m in lanc with a much smaller chance economy to support.

I dont want to sound alarmist, but continuing this sort of contempt shown by this muppet show is going to manifest itself in some large scale disquiet, today may be the catalyst, who knows
