U23s v Sunderland

I can see absolutely no reason why some of the U-23's shouldn't be in first team match day squads. We aren't premier league, we aren't even top half of the championship and haven't been for a while.
What's the point in the U-23's if we aren't going to integrate players from that group into the first team?

I notice Tyrone O'Neill is on the bench for the U23s. Seems that Burrell has leapt ahead in the pecking order.

We do move players from U23s to first team bench, Pears and Spence were moved into first team last year, Coulson was U23s the year before, and Wing and Tav the year before that.

The path to first team tends to be through injuries and suspensions. With a small squad, I think some of these lads will get a chance. We've already seen, Woods and Folarin get on the pitch and Brynn on the bench. I would expect one or two others will get the chance. If we get a CM injury then Wing will be in the side and we will need a CM on the bench, Hackney. Yes Burrell might be a striking option, Kokolo at LB although we have at least 3 options in that position.

6-0 hattrick for Isaac fletcher. I think he is one of those kids that played for the U18 while still a schoolkid, then ended up with injuries. He's barely played the last couple of years.

Apparently the Mackems beat the geordies 4-0 last game. Wonder how many we would do the mags by?

The U18s are second in the table behind Man City, they drew 0-0 with them, a very credible result considering that MAn City hoover up some of the best talent in the world. #ReasonsToBeOptimistic
