Higgy - “I regret not punching Aitor”.

Have you seen the size of Higgy recently? He's massive.

Saw him recently actually, walking a dog in Guisborough.
Hardly recognised him.
But it was him alright.
He was squeezed into narrow tracky bottoms and with a full set greying beard.
He looked like a little teddy bear.

I liked Higgy, still do too.

Bernie used to live in Guisborough too a year or so back, I know he’s not in the same house now but he used to sit in the window of Costa Coffee hoping somebody would recognise him.
He would get a job now with the new Guisborough Ghost walk with that pale mush and black quiff.
If he had stick in fangs he would make a fortune.

I have a vague memory of Higgy getting a red for throwing a punch? Anyone know/remember if he did?

I remember Ince throwing a particularly pathetic right at Niall Quinn (and missing) and of course there was Jeremy "The Hit Man" Aliadiere nearly killing poor little Javier Mascherano...

Who was our last player to get sent off for throwing a punch?

Didn't Robson (the Scottish one) punch a player in the box off the ball? Conceded a penalty.

Barry Robson was sent off for punching someone, I think Andre Bikey might have been too, Ehiogu also sent off for a punch possibly at Wimbledon away.

Pretty sure Ripley lamped David Batty away at Leeds, Boxing Day 1987. Both sent off, we lost 2-0, first defeat for months.

I love the footage of Norman Hunter getting more than he bargained for.
Ha, I remember that, it was a regular occurrence back in the day.
Bremner and Dave Mackay, then the old fella lifted Billy up with one hand.

Proper hard men.
We had a few who could handle themselves too.
Tony McAndrew could dig.and Souey took no prisoners either.

I love this, so funny. Leeds vs Chelsea FA Cup 1970 yeah?

The Guardian did a "live" blog for this match a few years ago with (I think) David Ellery retrospectively refereeing it with modern rules.

Was hilarious, he gave something like 43 yellow cards and 9 straight reds, I think Norman Hunter got 3.

All there on Spotify mate (free version). And loads of other podcast apps. Totally independent of BBC Tees. There's swearing and all sorts. Also, the tale of what Archie Stephens did in Stuart Ripley's sock.....

I am guessing its a crap in his sock... seems a lot of tales from the dressing room world about players/coaches doing things with there poo-poo.... wouldnt happen with alarmingly reguality in the real working world... would it?
