Corbyn has spoken There is no virus its all a hoax

The country would have a better future if all the Labour MPs shared more of Jeremy Corbyn's politics. Sadly he's well out the way now and we're back to scummy new Labour. Even if Labour win the next election we'll just get more privatisation, eroding civil rights, and head in the sand avoiding doing anything that would actually make a difference with the environment.

I can understand people not liking left wing politics and therefore not voting for Labour. That makes sense. What I don't understand is people not liking left wing politics and therefore not wanting Labour to be a left wing party. The tories dont really get the same, no matter how far to the right they go.

Reaction to Jacinda Arden election result; a fairly moderate left winger. GIANT RED WAVE COMING! from guess who?

You say this and yet, it is under Tory rule that the armed forces have been cut to the bone and then some. Scrapping Trident is, for many people, a very sensible policy.

You didn’t mention anything else Jeremy Corbyn stops for such as improving equality, reducing the wealth gap, ensuring big business pays a fair share of tax, supporting those in poverty and helping them to escape it etc. The list of positive policies was endless. Do you think the Tories are friends of the NHS or the police force? How about the armed forces?
Can I ask you, what makes you think that I am a Tory lover or voted for them, is this because I said the Labour Party elected a leader, unanimously I must add, who the people could not take to due to his left wing views. The wrong man was in charge and we both know the rest and will have to suffer under the mistakes they are making. If you think the cuts are bad now, wait until we have to pay for the money spent by Rishi.

They say people see the truth after a few pints. It wasnt the fact that these 2 were so bad although they were but its more that the whole party could not see that these 2 , and a few more were leading the LP to ruin.
And thats exactly what happened.
I've never heard anyone say your first sentence. I have heard rather a lot of people say things like "It's the beer talking" and "I really shouldn't go on the internet when I'm pi55ed".

The only bad news there is that he is no longer leader of the party. But the blind followers could not see they were on to a loser for many years. Just like Michael Foot but worse if that were possible

But good news that he has never been PM

And mixed news that he is a back bench MP

He let you all down terribly badly did Jeremy

posts like these are why they say you shouldn’t post on social media after a few drinks

Oh come on, have you not read any of the leaked Labour report? His own party were trying to throw elections and in 2017 they nearly failed. Despite all the slander, despite the whole of the media going along with the lies that he was a Russian agent/anti-Semite/terrorist sympathiser, he only fell short by a couple of thousand votes.

1. What unrealistic Education policy?
2. What's wrong with his stance on grammar schools?
1. Corbyn stated he would remove tuition fees at a cost of 10 billion a year and also deal with existing student debt. Even McDonald admitted it was more of an ambition than a realistic promise.

2. I work in a local school and see the negative behaviour of those students who do not want to work on the students who do. My own son, in his last year was moved up into the top maths set and when he came home he said 'I cannot believe the difference dad, everyone listens and no one is messing about. I would have got an A* if I had been in this group from the off.'

We have some great Comprehensive schools but we also have some very poor. I feel students should be given the opportunity to take the 11+ and better themselves. There are many on this board who have prospered from it.

Corbyn was elected as leader twice, but I'm not sure what you mean by unanimously? He received the least nominations from MPs in the 2015 contest and won the membership votes on about 60%. Great support but not unanimous.

Good (y)

Even McDonald admitted it was more of an ambition than a realistic promise.

So? If McD had said it was an oven ready refund would that have been better? We elect governments for 5 year terms, whats the problem with them starting off with some very clear policies and some aims they're trying to figure out?

I was going to argue that you would not get elected on unrealistic promises but Johnson did and managed to get Brexit through on the same principal.

NC, I didn't say you were a Tory and didn't infer it. I know there were a lot of people who were previously Labour voters who refused to vote for them because of Jeremy Corbyn.

The reality, however unpalatable as it may be to some, is that by not supporting Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party, by not voting at all or indeed lending votes to the Tories, the outcome has been the worst possible and will get far worse before it gets better.

The reasons that get spouted for disliking Jeremy Corbyn are largely all easily dismissed and rebuffed but the problem is, large numbers of people were swayed with lies and misrepresentation by the media.

The manifesto was too costly. Except in reality it wasn't, its just the Tories spread the lie because rather than public funds being spent on progressive policies, they'd rather line the pockets of their already vastly wealthy friends and donors.

He was anti-Semitic and dangerous to British Jews. Except again,he wasn't of course. There was an agenda to split the Labour Party from the Jewish community who historically largely voted Labour, why is that? Why did a couple of Jewish groups get huge amounts of media coverage playing the anti-Corbyn card and yet many other Jewish groups were given little to no platform for their support for Corbyn?

Corbyn is a terrorist sympathiser... Again, utter rubbish. The man is a pacifist and believes in talking and negtiotating with all sides, however unsavoury they are, in order to achieve peaceful solutions. Huge swathes of thick EDL types regular throw their weight behind Churchill as a true Brit, the British spirit personified, a bulldog and not to be messed with. Didn't he say after the second World War that he would much rather jaw-jaw than to war-war? The idiots either aren't aware of that and what it means, or they don't care.

The fact of the matter is that Jeremy Corbyn was the victim of a smear campaign conducted by the rich and powerful and for the benefit of the rich and powerful to the detriment of all others. Those who understood that point and voted Tory anyway should by utterly, utterly ashamed of what their actions have brought.

I agree with a lot of what you have said there and cannot argue against any of it until we get to the end. In one of my earlier post I stated that Joe Public are frightened of the Labour Left Wing and the Tories played on it. The smear campaign wasn't just conducted by them though, there was members of the Labour Party involved. The party was in a turmoil over its leader at a time we needed to stand together to prevent Brexit. Instead, members of the Labour Party put themselves first instead of forming a realistic opposition party. Now we will all suffer because of it - Labour politicians at the time need to step back and ask themselves 'what could I have done to prevent this mess.'

Even if the policies are unrealistic?

I wasn't going to quibble over it but I doubt McD actually said it was "unrealistic". It's pretty obviously not unrealistic when you think about it. It's just debt cancellation. It'sbeen done before and will be done again.
