Watched this for the first time last night, great film but had to rewind so many times because I couldn't make out what they were saying! May have just been my hearing/concentration levels. Good ending, pretty predictable once the box is delivered but still, great acting too.

The most shocking part is when the 'sloth' victim coughs after basically looking like he'd been dead for weeks. Very effective jump scare!

You can also see where Saw got a lot of its ideas from...

Great film👍

Proper dark and twisted. I think the whole film is filmed in dark lighting and rain to add to the gloomy effect.

How young do Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow look? Actually she looks the same now😉

Can't believe it's taken you this long. It's an amazing movie. I watched it at a little cinema in London when it came out (1995 I think, poss 96) and for about an hour afterwards we were like, WTF did we just see?!

Great movie, Fincher is a top top director. He cut his teeth in the MTV generation of music videos for Iggy Pop, Sting, Madonna, George Michael, Rolling Stones. He then did TV commercials including the classic Nike - Instant Karma. Then he bagged Aliens 3 as his first big movie. Followed up with Se7en, Fight Club and Panic Room. All have a very similar grainy washed out dark feel to them. Went on to do Zodiac, Benjamin Button, The Social Network and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But since then he's only done Gone Girl in the last 9 years. Although it looks like he might have another coming out soon. He is one of those directors where you have to see his whole catalogue.

Think he was executive producer on "Mindhunters" too for Netflix. Another of those series which are very good, but inexplicably dropped.

I watched se7en in the cinema. Thank god the spoilers were at a premium those days. I never saw the end coming.... A proper WTF moment😕👍

You'd read about it on twitter or Facebook now. Thank god for no social media pre Empire Strikes Back 😂

Great movie, but surprised no one had mentioned freeman yet. He was superb and you could feel his angst in the final scene

Does your TV have different audio settings for TV, film and music?

I sometimes find the movie setting on mine brings out too much bass. If it's late at night with the volume down I switch to the Clear Voice mode.

Cracking film though - pretty sure I saw it in the cinema.

I seem to remember he purposely muffled the dialogue audio at least in the early part of the film, as a mechanism to concentrate on it more
