Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman 'has loan offers from Watford and Middlesbrough' with the EFL's transfer window open until October 16... as he faces being shipped out for a SIXTH time since joining the Blues
  • Chelsea's forgotten man Baba Rahman could join Watford or Boro on loan
  • The left-back hasn't played for the Blues since his debut season in 2015-16
  • He has failed to make an impact and has been sent out on loan five times By Oli Gamp For Mailonline Published: 17:33, 6 October 2020 | Updated: 17:33, 6 October 2020
Chelsea outcast Baba Rahman is attracting interest from Watford and Middlesbrough, who are considering a season long-loan for the left-back, according to reports.
Rahman's career at Stamford Bridge is turning into a nightmare having been sent out on loan for the last five straight seasons, failing to appear in a senior game for the Blues since the 2015-16 season - when he first joined.
The Ghanaian arrived from Augsburg for £14million and played 23 times in his debut campaign, but ended up being shipped out to Schalke for three consecutive seasons, with recent spells coming at Reims and Mallorca.

Left-back has been a problem area for Chelsea in recent seasons, with Marcus Alonso and Emerson Palmieri - who could also be sent out on loan - unable to make the position their own.
This summer the Blues splash out £50m on Leicester's Ben Chilwell, adding even more competition for places.
There are a host of other names out of the first team picture, including Victor Moses and Danny Drinkwater, with the club already stacked with quality stars.

Their should be paying us to work with warnock , Hel help him get his a career back on track . Hopefully he can show the quality you’d expect from a £15m left back .

Chelsea and many loans😂

To think you can have a 15mil player on the books and not play him since 2016.

I know nothing about him and doubt anyone will. He's probably better than we have but I'm not overly fussed. He will probably go to Watford so he won't have to move gaffs.

I kind of think a CB is more of a priority (depending on how he feels about Wood).

Cant be that much of a nightmare for the lad as he has obviously signed a new deal at some point if he’s been there since 15/16 and has 2 years left to run

Watford would be favourites you would think, but perhaps they want him as cover and we want him as first choice. The lad needs to play regularly and I would think Boro were his better bet for that. He had a cruciate injury, so hope that is fully in the past.
Maybe we can loan Watford, Bola and Johnson to help them out ;)

Sadly Watford desperately need a left back and this guy would fit the bill.

I’m guessing there will be quite a few premier squad players with little chance of a first team appearance eager to play regularly in the Championship. Like the idea of younger talent rather than those over the hill. The most successful loanees like Harry Wilson and Mason Mount were just 18-19 when at Derby.

Baba would be an excellent signing if he’s injury free and a massive upgrade on any player that we have in that position, he’s extremely mobile, quick, strong in the tackle and provides good delivery on his left foot, I watched him play for Schalke and Reims and he’s scored in both those games, obviously his injury record is a concern but if he’s fit he’d be the best left back in the Championship by quite some way.

Cost Chelsea £21m! Never played him. Crazy.
Just think about the likes of Bamford / Kalas / Big Ken and Chalobha (spelling?). They were all Chelsea 'kids' but most bought for a fee.

I read Loftus - Cheek is on 150k a week. Fulham are picking up half and significant loan fee😕. It's money no object in the league above.

Can @newyddion knock together a realistic Championship promotion contention side out of that little lot?

Only time will tell..................................
