I understand your frustration, and without playing the victim, it does feel like London and the SE have earned some sort of exemption status whilst us grim northerners have to live under tighter restrictions. That said, i believe the quickest way out of this is to play our part and do the right thing as instructed. By not doing so and going against the rules (I'm not suggesting you are or are not btw, I have no idea) it will only drag the process out even longer, and we will suffer longer as a result of that. For me the tighter regulations/laws/rules/guidelines need to be applied nationally for a designated period of time (3 weeks?), regardless of whether a particular area is seeing very high cases or not. Having some places not under local lockdown just means there is license for travel, thus spreading the infection. You cant control what happens nationally by locking down specific areas, it's like having a peeing section in a swimming pool!
