Breaking ranks from the other Borough councils in Tees Valley, wants people to stop mixing with other households but you can meet up in the pub because pubs are Covid secure....😀

Cases in the last 7 days have just increased to over 100 per 100000 today.

At 1 of our depots, which is local, 1 person tested positive yesterday, this morning it was 4, by 2 o'clock it was 7 with 1 on a ventilator.

That’s seems a very quick turn of events, how did they firstly manage to get tests so quickly, then how did they get the results so quick??

I haven't seen any data but one of the newsreaders on TV this morning quoted a figure of new cases being caused by the Hospitality industry as being just 3.2%

anyone get the feeling that we’ll be like this for years?

Can’t see it. Pretty sure people will be ignoring the politicians advice if this is still going on in years time, people have lost faith in the government and interest after just 6 months. Once unemployment starts sky rocketing in the next few months and more curbs on freedoms come in people will just stop listening, if the government comes in hard the masses will just push back. Half the reason the governments measures are half hearted is because they know the harder they crack down the bigger the unrest will be. It’s impossible to tell 60 million people what to do if they aren’t interested. The virus probably would of burnt itself out in a few years anyway. Once you get past the point more people have had the virus than haven’t then it will start slowing down. I wear my mask, I distance, I wash my hands but I gave up listening to the government months ago, couldn’t tell you what the current restrictions are and not really interested tbh.

Seems conveniently low?
Convenient?
The spike in cases started when schools, colleges and universities went back and parents went back to work, oh and Autumnal weather started to creep in.
But no it's the pubs and restaurants which are actually more covid secure than the houses of parliament and schools that are the cause of the rise in cases, even though they've been open since July 4th. 🤔

Do you work in a pub by any chance?

I think the eat out to help out was needed, but it was a catalyst to get a little more virus in circulation before people started went back to work/school then it really lifted off

Councils further North asked the government to intervene a few weeks ago, some councillors are now regretting that decision as they’ve realised many of these restrictions have done little to stop the spread of the virus and have caused more economic damage to the area without any support for these businesses effected.

They’re now outraged the government are dishing out further restrictions. They asked for intervention, they need to own it.

Only an idiot would want this Tory government to intervene in their area.
