Looks like this is getting brought back in
Exactly, what about the footfall in town centres and the small town centre businesses losing trade?2 weeks ago we were lazy for WFH, more likely to be sacked and the sole cause of the nations economic problems
Who would have thought pushing people back into crowded offices, on crowded busses/trains etc would cause issues mid pandemic?
Obviously all the people who can WFH can afford to take a pay cut since you are no longer need to spend money commuting. I’m sure your employees will think the same come your next review or pay rise. Also you might have to pay more tax for the 10 million people who can’t WFH so they can get their benefits.
How is that going to work? Oh you live 10 miles away so you take this much of a cut, yet you live 30 miles away so you take a bit more of a cut. Also what about the increase in electricity usage of people working from home. Are you going to factor that in?Obviously all the people who can WFH can afford to take a pay cut since you are no longer need to spend money commuting. We’re actually saving them money, in fact I want a heating allowance of them, our bills will go up because of this, this winter.Obviously all the people who can WFH can afford to take a pay cut since you are no longer need to spend money commuting. That is actually a good point! When you freelance, can't you include heating, electric etc as tax deductable? We’re actually saving them money, in fact I want a heating allowance of them, our bills will go up because of this, this winter.
