And yet

The Championship side have been up for sale since 2015 and Fosun is to pump up to £30m into the club over the next two years as part of the deal.
The investment group has links with the super-agent Jorge Mendes who represents José Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo and has stakes in the travel agent Thomas Cook, among other interests.

Decent signing..... I didn't realise he was only 23.

Im glad Liverpool are spending. I couldn't understand how they were skint as league winners etc. They will have no problems with FFP due to commercial value.

Everton could spend a lot more due to owners. FFP is actually holding them back (radio 5 was on about it the other day). The owners can't spend the money they want too.

When Wolverhampton Wanderers unveiled as their new coach Nuno Espírito Santo, the first client of the globe-bestriding Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, the club denied that Mendes had garnered an excessive influence in their transfer dealings.
Wolves’ managing director, Laurie Dalrymple, acknowledged that Mendes was a “known associate” and friend of the club’s Chinese owner, but said it would be against football rules for an agent to be in charge of recruitment. Mendes’s role is advisory, he said: “Someone, because of the friendship with the owners, that we take opinions and advice from.”
Mendes’s relationship with the Fosun conglomerate, which bought the club last summer from the house-building magnate Steve Morgan, goes beyond friendship and advice: they have a business partnership and Mendes has been central to Fosun’s moves into football.

the whole thing stinks !!!!

So their manager is mendes and the majority of their players are as well plus he has links to the owners.

Did you see their latest signings

The 20-year-old joined Wolves' growing Portuguese contingent after the clubs agreed a loan deal with an option to buy.
It is thought Wolves must pay a fee of around £18million should they wish to make the move permanent next summer.
The signing of the attacking central midfielder - also known as Vitor Ferreira - follows the arrival of Fabio Silva from the Portuguese giants last week in a £35m club record move, as well as defender Fernando Marcal from Olympique Lyonnais.
He's is a client of Jorge Mendes' Gestifute agency, which has close ties with Wolves owners Fosun.

Superagent Jorge Mendes has close ties to Wolves
Why Jorge Mendes’ influence at Wolves makes Nuno Espirito Santo’s side anything but underdogs

Club have continued to invest strongly in talent linked to the superagent

Nuno Espirito Santo signed a three-year contract extension at Wolverhampton Wanderers before the team’s Premier League opening game away to Sheffield United tonight. The manager’s continued commitment will boost confidence at Molineux that they can be the club that makes the Big Six a redundant term. The only surprise is that this has not happened yet.
This is the team’s third season back in the top flight. There is still a lingering perception that Wolves are somehow underdogs, plucky battlers challenging the established elite. Espirito Santo’s new deal is a reminder that this is far from the truth.
It is easy to be impressed with the work the 46-year-old has done in bringing Wolves into the top flight. That is only half the story, though. Another Portuguese has been crucial in the club’s growing status.
Espirito Santo was the first client of Jorge Mendes, the most powerful agent in the sport. The former goalkeeper was the springboard for Mendes to create a career in player representation. The 54-year-old has been as instrumental as his client in changing Wolves’ DNA and creating a Little Portugal in this corner of the Black Country. A conveyor belt of Portuguese players have made their way to Molineux. The club’s owners, the Chinese conglomerate Fosun, rely on the man that Jeff Shi, the executive chairman, called a “friend and advisor.” Nowhere else in the Premier League is a single agent so influential in the development of a team.

Fosun and Mendes had a relationship before the Chinese company bought into English football. One of the conglomerate’s subsidiary firm owns a percentage of one of the agent’s companies. This has thrown up suspicions. The sport’s rules determine that representatives of players and managers cannot act as officials of a club.
