Middlesbrough v Bournemouth Allowed 1000 fans

I think the think is to bear in mind is the concourses are closed except for use of toilets. Therefore people should not congregate in there. It is merely a route to get between the turnstiles and your seat.
Stewards and PA announcements will be there to guide everyone.
Did you manage to get a ticket Rob?

The stadium turnstiles will open at 1.30pm. Hospitality guests can arrive from 12 noon. Please be clear on your entry point and arrive in good time to allow for additional entry procedures which will include using hand sanitiser at the turnstiles.

We will be running pre-match content on the big screen from 2pm.

Spectators, with the exception of hospitality spectators, who arrive by car will be permitted to park in Car Park E, off Dockside Road, free of charge. Access to Car Park E is via The Leeway or Dockside Road.

Entry to Car Park E will be on production of a valid matchday ticket, which must be produced to the steward on the gate to Car Park E, from where you will be directed to park.

You are encouraged to adhere to government guidance in relation to face coverings, particularly when traveling to and from the Riverside, when queuing and when in enclosed or indoor areas at the stadium including hospitality reception areas, concourses and toilets.

Once inside the stadium please make your way to your seats as soon as possible.

You must only sit in the seat you have been allocated; there will be empty seats in the areas around you to facilitate social distancing requirements. Please remain in your allocated seat and do not move seats for any reason unless instructed by club staff.

I wonder how many people got a ticket without having to join in the online bun fight on Wednesday - did a 1000 tickets actually come up for grabs on line or was it less?

No real issues today, barring one steward getting confused and forcing me to go the wrong way back to my seat, got a free mask and really enjoyed the match.
Was great being back in the stadium.

it seems like it was all very well organised - ticket check points at car park entrances for pedestrians. Free #UTB face masks from council wardens.
Hand sanitisers outside and inside turnstiles. Follow clear signs and social distancing reminders. One way system through concourse to seat decks..
Toilets one way. You could take off masks at seats. Several spare seats in all directions. Everyone stayed in their own seats through game. There was a proper atmosphere.
At the end of the match. People masked up. Announcements over PA. Remain in your seats. Lower tier leave first. Then middle. Lastly upper. Wait for the nod from the stewards.
All very quick and orderly.
At all times safe but very much feeling like you were at a match.
Such was the general feedback from this test game.

As a trial match then what do you think clubs learn from it and what can they take forward? Was there anything to suggest that next time more could be let in?

I guess that is a question for next week and very important too. What are we talking about here, probably scaling up through the four stands at a similar density of fans in seats. So, what they did in the West Stand today they should be able to do in four stands with more stewards, more entrances, exits and sections of fans leaving at different times. Staggered arrivals and exits, in other words.
Mark from fans forum is asking for feedback from supporters that went to the match ahead of a forum meeting on Monday.

Still would like to know how I didn't get a ticket, even though I was straight on the site to get a seat. As asked above, how many tickets did the club give to people associated with the club. Who didn't have to scramble for them. And Rob, u still haven't answered. Did u get a ticket

Everyone was put into a queuing system and your position in the queue was randomised.

If he did, I would say he deserved it by putting so much graft in for us and the club. He is part of press conferences after all.

Yet, I and a couple of other lads I know managed to get straight on the site, we all got to the page to choose our seats, and still every seat was taking. Till it said no event found. Sorry I don't buy it

Yes Rob was there. Wearing a rather smart retro Boro face covering too!

There is no reason why that can't be replicated in all 4 stands. It was all very safe and organised. The issue will be fans behaviour outside the ground. Easy to social distance out there today, more difficult with 10 000 people getting to and from the game.

I felt it was all very well organised, and it was great to watch live football in the stadium again. I parked in car park E - when parking up i noticed they were filling the car park towards the entrance. I left a minute before the end as there was a lot of cars and only one way out. Did anyone have any issues getting out?

3 months of no football, 7 months of no fans. A momentous occasion, fans are back. But only 1000 lucky souls get tickets. And you leave before the end to beat the traffic and your only interest appears to be if there was a traffic jam. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Not having a go at you, but with a very limited number of tickets, this is what was wrong with the system. It should have been one ticket per connection. It's not as if you could sit together at the match
What was wrong with the system was that people were getting through to the ticket selection page to find that no tickets were available (I suspect there were, but the page had to be repeatedly refreshed to see them). I do not believe that this was down to some 'Boro superfan elite conspiracy' (consider yourself cleared of all charges Rob;)) but rather the usual vagaries/inadequacies of MFCs on-line ticketing process.
