Dijksteel - Early prediction.

Will be our player of the season. That position looks made for him and he is really good on the ball. Loving him so far; been brilliant since Warnock walked through the door.
He was excelent v Watford, MOTM for me another very good game today, our keeper shaded it with the 3 saves for the MOTM
Good signing from Woody (y)

I am liking Djiksteel, I would love to see him as RB in a back 4 personally, (we can’t do that without a LB though) but he has good touch, a bit of pace and works hard, just not sure about his heading skills, but looking settled and playing well enough and better than some.

These lads came from league 1 and probably needed a season.

He actually did really well under Warnock after lockdown. He didn't look comfortable at RB and is looking far better in his new role.

He's athletic and mobile enough to be a top player👍

I said before the start of the season that Djiksteel could be a big player for us this season. He's never looked like a RB to me and is looking much more comfortable in his new role.

I also think Browne can do well for us this season if he's used in a more central role.

He's been largely excellent since Warnock came in.
Looking like it might end up being a shrewd signing after all, as long as he stays fit.

I don’t think I’ve got any desire to give woody credit for anything but I did guess last seasons signings could come good this season under and experienced manager .

Hopefully coulson will replace Johnson eventually

So is it the case that the recruitment team did OK last Summer, and that JW just wasn't a good enough manager to organise them?

So when Dijksteel was taken off at half time in the cup game it was to save him for today. He is the most improved player in the team. His strength and speed serve him well at centre back. He is not as exposed as when he played at fullback.
Spence however has gone backwards. I think mainly because he doesn't know when to release the ball. He often hangs onto it too long or doesn't see an obvious pass. Tav is guilty of that as well.

I think all the players were young and making the step up from league 1. I think they may just improve naturally👍

I guess playing under Warnock has to help. He seems the type to give you confidence and structure (actually knowing role and responsibilities).

I said all 3 were **** poor last season. I also didn't write any of them off and thought this season would be the make or break.

I really want Browne to do well. He's athletic and quick/mobile. He was many attributes we are crying out for. Blackwell said todaythey see him as more a No10 than forward. Also he needs to be a bit more physical and not as easy to shove off the ball.

He looks more at ease than running around like a headless chicken under woody.
