Boro vs AFC Bournemouth

That'll do. On paper two of the hardest games of the season out of the way and despite plenty of bodies leaving Bournemouth they're not too bad by Championship standards, though they underperformed today.

A sneaky win at QPR's place would do nice next time out mind.
 
Well what a good performance today. Best team by far and considering they are tipped to go back up. I thought we battled hard and dominated for long periods. A couple of excellent saves by our goalie. Happy with that, seems like a win after the recent defeats. Good stream too.. 👍🏼
 
Good performance and a decent point.
Against the two relegated teams we have more than held our own.
In Neil we trust and BELIEVE
 
Only got to see the 2nd half, I think the IT problems were at my end rather than with the system.

A draw looked fair, I thought we looked the better, they had better chances.

Great to have a few fans back in, it makes a great difference.

I quite like the look of Betanelli

I'm feeling more enthused than I usually would after a draw

Stop conceding from setplays and we look decent. I've seen enough in 2 games to say we've improved.

Also one or 2 more to come in. We will play far worse sides than Watford and Bournemouth.
 
Hopefully we will continue to improve, defending is the easiest part of the game to coach so you would expect that to improve as the season goes on. Here's hoping for a flirt with the playoffs.
 
Very one sided, we should have won playing the way we did. Boro got no protection for the fouling, from the ref.
Premier League, they're having a laugh, no wonder they were relegated last season.

A draw was good in the end, we deserved a win but we'll take, IMHO, we controlled both halves
I like the look of our keeper, pulled off 3 excellent saves, their keeper suspect

Happy for Browne he's had an up & down Boro career so far so that'll give him so that'll give him some confidence
I don't think teams need to be defending at all costs as we are so poor in the creating chances, scoring departments
 
Delighted with the performance me. Happy enough with the result. First point on the board now. Apkom to be available for next week. Something to build on. No complaints from me today . Well done Boro.

Well I'm glad we got something. Thought our play deserved a win and v Watford deserved a draw. And if you don't get some sort of result after awhiles decent performances turn into bad ones.

I think our play is generating a lot of half chances mainly crosses. we really need to attack the ball in the box more.

Defence is a bigger worry for me. Teams are scoring against us with few chances, though thought bettinelli played well today. I'd be a lot happier with Ayala back there. Something a good coach can work on though, and we've got that now. When we scored even with a little pressure we looked vulnerable.

Crowd of even 1000 made a difference. The game was played with more urgency.

Difficult to tell as it's early season but we've played the two best teams on paper.
 
Think Apkom watching in the stand will have been impressed. He will look at that and think we are decent enough to give him a few chances👍
 
Decent performance to a degree. We were the better team over all, clearly lacking pace and creative nous still, our keeper made 3 really good saves, we are absolutely woeful when defending set pieces/corners mind.

Neil, if you do look in from time to time as you have said, we lack pace and someone to feed the forwards. We desperately need a ball carrier somewhere in the team and Fletcher needs to work harder or be benched. Get a left back in, Djiksteel at RB and play a back four and give a pacy ball carrier free reign to wander causing damage and feeding the strikers. Oh, and while you are at it, teach them how to defend a set piece pronto. (You can thank me later).

We have been the better team in the two matches so far but our final pass is woeful, especially from the flanks. Would like to see Paddy at right wingback as his cross for the goal was unplayable for the defence. Thankfully Bettinelli was good today. Nice to see Browne get his first goal of, hopefully, many. Let’s hope Akpom will help us create the goals we need to catch Reading and Luton!
