Shotton?

He's probably having a holiday.

I never thought Rudy really wanted to play. We never heard of him knocking on the managers door or going to the press demanding a move. I can really see the likes of him not being to bothered.

He could retire on our 4yr deal😕

I didn't realise he was still here. Ryan Shotton had his moments where he looked half decent and he never looked like he wasn't putting a shift in.

True S7, very average players in the top 2 divisions can become rich and secure for life with just a couple of years contract. Just think how much the agents get (almost put earn) too.

Looking at Shotton, he would probably be an asset considering the present state of Boro's circumstances if signed "reasonably".

He isn’t still at Boro. He was out of contract. OP means he still hasn’t found a new club. I think he had half an eye on moving to Wigan but there situation has left him clubless so he needs to re assess

Apologies for repeating this but, what other sport rewards you so much for being ranked 1,000
-2,000 in the world?

I'm sure when Wigan were linked in Jan the report said he was one of our biggest earners? I thought 'surely not' 😂

If he was then just more of the Monk madness.

NBA Basketball, ML Baseball, NFL Football.

Yeah was going to say only the American sports really. Of course football goes much further than those even given its a global game and the number of clubs (there's also no chance Gestede was in the top 2,000 players when on his ridiculous contract here, but that's by the by).

I don't think even US sports reward mediocrity or potential to the same extent football does. Part of the reason IMO why you see so much wasted talent. Players don't have to be at their best to make a fortune. Meaning they often think their natural ability is enough and hard work/professionalism doesn't really matter as long they're earning their £50k a week.
