I disagree with just about all that and genuinely I don't really understand how you can reach these views.

The far right not taken seriously and aren't given much airtime? They're in government here and in the US. Boris has done daily press briefings for months, how much more airtime could they want?
I don't think you really understand what far right means, or you have re-calibrated it to suit your narrative. Johnson is nothing like far right and I have no time for him.

I don't think of the people behind the JK Rowling hate campaign as left or right - they are bullies of the very worst kind. Sadly they have succeeded in bullying a lot of people into submission and silencing them from forums like twitter. In fact they have even shifted the parametres for some charities and they can make your life hell if you try and stand up to them. It can be a bit like Belarus for people trying to stick their heads above the parapet and make any form of debate. The treatment of JK Rowling is quite shameful.

It's only 4 years since a far right terrorist murdered a British MP. 3 years since the Finsbury Park mosque attack where a far right terrorist hoped to kill Corbyn. 9 years since Anders Brevik. Maybe I'm missing something.
They were all just single individuals not part of an orchestrated move by far right parties

It's fair enough that you have no time for Johnson, but come on what else can you class him as? Surely you're not going to say he's left wing? A centrist?

Europol and high level folks in the Met seem to think there's more of a terrorist threat from the far right than the far left.

Of course, but that doesn't stop them individually being far right does it? I'm saying I don't see the equivalent cases from far left individuals. Or a far left party orchestrating terrorist acts if that's what you're saying?

I suppose that pre social media, it didn't matter what views your friends and family held. I can honestly say that I respect everybodies views and wouldn't "de-friend" anybody for their beliefs.

Really? You like to see someone post that 'these monkeys should go back to the jungle'?!

A lot of the domestic terrorism that is happening now in the US is being funded by the left. I consider myself liberal left, but I just don't understand what it now means in the modern context. It's been hijacked by idiots with extreme far left views who won't stop until everyone conforms to the same idea. Challenge them and they attempt to destroy your life through social media. The left has been hijacked and unless it stands up to it the left will eventually eat itself.

The "liberal left" are the most vile individuals if you don't conform to their world view. There's simply nothing liberal about them. It's these types that have hijacked the Labour party and why I have so much apathy towards the party now
Liberal Left? By the very name liberal, it means an understanding of others. I think you might need to drift slightly further to the left to find the culprits

I did say "pre social media".

It is easy to amplify one's views in this day and age and even easier to be outraged but somebodies differing views. Pre social media there was hardly ever chat about politics in the forum that was known as the pub. Conversations were usually about football, music and birds.

Eh? Genuinely don't know what you're on about. Who do you mean by the left here that's doing this funding? How are they doing it? Some kind of crowdfunder website?

Twitter is a petri dish of extreme views that are allowed to grow and multiply. Other platforms enable us to disseminate the nonsense in a more reasoned manner so we do not end up swimming in vile

Twitter is a left echo-chamber these days - everyone is moving to Parler now - particularly people on the right

“everyone”

righto, a small minority, probably because twitter doesn’t let them be chunts to people anymore

it’s the comeonboro of Twitter.

far right content, conspiracy theories and Saudi nationals... excellent company to keep.

Its interesting that the propoganda spread from Trump is now infecting people in this country. He talks about the radical left being terrorists but it is rubbish and it is his populist right wing views that are the problem. Have you seen that election ad. hje just released?

I've maybe misunderstood this but are you really saying you 'respect' someone who is racist or violently nationalistic?

Would you sit with your mates in the pub and happily nod along as they were throwing racist insults around? If so you need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

I find Twitter and Facebook really useful. The only offensive posts I get are sponsored/ads. Then again, I mainly use them for specific interest groups and keeping in touch with friends and family. If I wanted to engage in hateful, racist abuse and death threats I'd use COB! (other football message boards are available)
