I see Blackburn are seemingly close to signing up Ayala.
How the mighty fall eh?.

it seems he has done the rounds in the last few weeks.
Norwich, Swansea, Spain.....

I wonder if he regrets what he did to Boro now.?.

he won’t have had a wage since he left us and if he had stuck it out with us who knows what he might have been offered to stay.

wouldn’t have had to move house maybe kids schools etc.

After whats happened And given our dire defensive state would you have him back?.

would I?.

like a shot !.

I thought he moved to Hertfordshire in April/May?

i recall his missus saying they were ‘moving further south‘.

Then I also read that tgey were living with her mam and dad on merseyside.

if thats where he has set up home now, Blackburn ain’t so far away I suppose.

I reckon he regrets what he did now though.
Blackburn in the winter months makes Yarm seem like the Costa Blanca.

I can't imagine Blackburn will be able to offer him the wages he was initially after when he left us. That's a reality a lot of footballers are having to now face though.

It won't happen but i'd have him back no bother. He was in the main a very good player for us and our defence is sadly missing a big nasty b***r like him.

Beggars can’t be choosers !.
Is he better than we have ?
Is the price we can afford ? Free
Would he need to settle in ?

I reckon if we asked him again he’d come back.

don’t forget Juninho left and came back after seemingly dropping us in the cart and nowt was said.

Can't remember the club leaking stories about Juninho burning bridges and locking him out of the training ground though!

Anno, but he Still left, and came back, so did Downing.
My point is, he has no fee, we know the defence would improve with him in it, Mowbray probably can’t believe his luck.

Is someone really comparing one of the best players in the world leaving us for a club record fee following relegation after fighting tooth and nail to keep us up, with a championship standard defender refusing to play on, increasing our risk of being relegated just so he didn't jeopardise his "big move" (which hasn't materialised)?

Really?

Jesus wept.

Good riddance.

Glad it looks like he's joining a team that probably won't achieve anything either.

I recall his Mrs say the truth will out. Has it?

I think this phrase is becoming a stock diversion for those with no real defense; it's used to defend the trivial, such as Ayala's contract, and used all the way up to defend Trump's bizzarities when insinuating that he is fighting some secret QAnon battle.

Ayala was decent for us but I don't think he has as much goodwill as Juninho in the bank.

"Dropping us in the cart" is a bit trite.
The man bust a gut trying to keep us up, and the fans respected that.
Everyone respected his desire to play at the top level in order to get in Brazil's WC squad that year.
I didn't meet anyone back then who though he owed the club anything in those circumstances. Fans were sad to see him go, but no one questioned his effort or integrity, or begrudged him the move.

He's a decent champo signing. If he stays fit (post Feb) then they have a cracking champo CB for nowt.

It's easy to forget because of his exit. He would still get in our back 4-5 if fit.

I'm not sure he's downgrading. They are going for the playoffs until the final 4-5 games.

Personally, no I wouldn't. Good when he plays but you need some sense of loyalty in life.

I think it has, he thought he was worth more & the truth is, he probably isn't.
