FA Cup replays scrapped.

Absolute disgrace. For me if the game is a draw and one of the teams doesn't want to go to a replay the should be allowed to forfeit the game and the other team goes through.

Are they not increasing the number of Champions League matches next year. Why was that allowed if there is too many games. Not that I watch the C.L anyway.

When will we stop kissing the @rse of the Premier League.

Do they only allow them to switch if the ground is unsuitable to host the tie? It would make it more palatable if they allowed the smaller team to switch. Or does that make it look like you are treating the competition as a money-spinner rather than a competition you are looking to win? Maybe that's their thinking.

I don't think they allow them to switch any more at all. No ground is unsuitable to host a tie. That was always a pretence. You're not allowed to enter the FA Cup if you don't have access to a ground that is suitable for staging a game of association football. It's just some grounds don't have the capacity you'd like to cash in to the max. Well, tough, it's a football tournament, not an opportunity to cash in to the max.

Sadly, nothing surprises me anymore, they seem determined to disrespect the FA cup and grassroots football, can’t the government step in, they are just riding roughshod over everything, completely unchallenged and unaccountable?

when we played Hednesford in 1997, it was meant to be at Hednesford, but they were allowed to move it to the Riverside. Made sense as they got half the gate receipts at the Riverside, which would be significantly more than the gate receipts if it had been played at their ground.
Isn’t allowed anymore. But I thought then and still do now that it was a cracking idea.

I remember at the time that the reason given for not allowing teams to switch grounds was because home fans felt cheated out of seeing their team playing one of the big boys After all, it was the same fans who had supported their team against other non league teams. Another reason was that the players and management thought they had a better chance of pulling off a shock if they were playing on their own patch. It was the directors and owners who made the decision to switch purely for the money and nothing to do with football.

It’s their competition.

They can do what they like with it.

Seems to me this is about half a dozen clubs at the top of the tree bullying the FA to get their own way.

Im more annoyed about the final not being the last game of the season. And no doubt not kicking off at 3pm

No is wasn't. It was a pathetic surrender by a mickey mouse club that had no desire to actually win the football match it had been drawn to play in and it made the tie a farce.

It's a football competition. Hednesford reduced their chances for cash. How is that qualitatively different to us saying here, have £xxxx, now lose?

There is nothing that has devalued the FA Cup is the last thirty years of its decline more than when they stopped treating it as a knockout football tournament we all wanted to win and started treating it as a money making exercise. The only thing this change affects is the latter. The former was gone years ago. With Hednesford if not before.

Probably my favourite memory of the FA Cup. And we only saw highlights, never a full match. By the way, did anyone notice the state of the pitch

I hope all the clubs outside the PL, especially the 'Big 6' field their kids and reserves in the FA Cup next season.

I hope they well and truly make a farce of the FA Cup and treat the competition with very little interest, similarly to how the FA have treated them.

I agree, if your going to change something then everyone should get to vote and then take it from there.

I also feel it could work out for some of the smaller clubs too and maybe a chance of getting to the next round, take our home win against Chelsea for example in the semi-final, we would be at Wembley if the same thing happens next season in the fa cup 👍.

Plus should make for some entertaining cup games if they are straight knock out.

Plus, scrap the Wembley semi-finals go back to drawing who plays home and away!!

Interesting Bausor was in on this decision.......

Let's face it, the FA Cup has been run down /devalued for so many years and has now been reduced to

1. A potential money spinner for lower league clubs

2. An inconvenience for PL clubs

3. A bit of a meh for Championsip clubs

The glory of the FA Cup has long gone, swallowed up by commercial greed. Sad really.

Oh, and f*ck the Semis at Wembley too.
