The Ang Rayner Protest in Yarm

Were there any police in attendance? If there was did they take photos as they would at other demonstrations. If there was no police why not? Did the demonstrators have permission to demonstrate like others have to?

Him and Jacob Young share a brain cell I think.
Both of them are a charisma and IQ vacuum.
He is a Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, a post also occupied by Jonathan Gullis and recently vacated by Lee Anderson. It doesn't seem to need much bandwidth.

Must be getting splinters in their throat with all the bottom of the barrel scraping going on there!

Plod is investigating now, this time not for tax but for possible breach of election law. What next? Investigation for not indicating while turning right on a roundabout in 2008?

All because a Tory has demanded it based on hearsay from neighbours of Raynor.
Corruption as usual from Tories and the police being the willing puppets is no surprise.

I know we have a few ex coppers on this board and they are good people in the force but as an institution they're morally bankrupt and just there to protect capital and the ruling class.

I’ve just read that the police are now reopening the investigation
And
The potential financial gain to her, if charged and found guilty, is a
Whopping

£1500

I’m not saying she should get off with that but….

Zahawi had to ‘settle’ to pay £5m - and faced no issue from the party

It’s just toffs bullying a working class woman who they think is operating way above her station ….

They're not looking into the Capital Gains Tax issue so much though, as I understand it they're now looking into whether she was registered to vote at the wrong address, based on a complaint made by Tory party deputy chairman and Bury North MP James Daly.

Once again, it doesn't seem clear to me that there really is an offence here. According to the Electoral Commission website:

If you split your time between two homes, you may be able to register to vote at both addresses. For example, you might own two properties and split your time between them, or you might spend time at different family addresses.

If you apply to register to vote from your second home, then your application will be looked at on a case by case basis. The outcome will depend on the amount of time you spend at each of your addresses.

Now, the house she was registered at was the only house she owned and she has pointed out that she still spent time there (how much is a matter of debate, apparently) still paid all the bills for that house etc.

Daly says he has info from former neighbours of hers who will dispute her claim to have not been living full time with her husband before she sold her house but I have to wonder about how reliable that info is.

Even if some of her former neighbours are saying that (and we only have Daly's word for it so far) unless they kept a log of the exact times and dates that she entered and left the property then it seems to me their impressions of where she spent most of her time might be open to question anyway.

Even if Ang is found "guilty" surely the precedent has now been set where she says "soz like" the Labour party say "she's said soz like, we've moved on" and that's the end of it?

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
Daily Mail rules are this needs to be front page headlines day after day , and Tories doing the same can be hidden inside - if even mentioned

If it boils down to a he says / she says scenario the Police will just drop it.....I believe there has to be pretty nailed on evidence if this is to be sent to the CPS? Couple of neighbours curtain twitching??

I hope the Police do a Beergate #2, say there is nothing to see here, and watch the RW shysters melt down.

Like that Nazi at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. But worse.

As I said above, the police have acted on Tory pressure and hearsay. It's a waste of time and money done purely to feed them Tories client media.
