Liverpool v Atalanta

Bad news or good news, depending on your persuasion, but tonight's results also mean that Scotland have lost their automatic Champions League place.
That’s mad. The champions of a UEFA member nation have to qualify for a competition made up of champions of member nations while teams that finish 4th or 5th in other member nations go straight through instead. It’s an absolute racket.

The name is becoming increasingly ironic. European Super League plus some lowly additional clubs who are welcome as long as they don't get too cheeky and stop the super clubs making money

Yeah, it's not something I agree with.

I can understand clubs from the the likes of Andorra not qualifying automatically without prior performances, but Rangers have had some decent European Cup runs in recent years.

They were in the Europa League final 2 years ago.

Rangers weren’t far off winning the first iteration of the Champions League. If they’d won their last group game fixture they’d have finished above Marseille and gone into the final against AC Milan. It wouldn’t be allowed to happen now.

Commentator was saying last night Italy likely to have 5 teams in Championship League next year
6 teams will qualify if Atalanta win Europa League and finish 6th in Seria A were they are currently positioned.
Absolutely ridiculous
