Leeds v Southampton Ticket Pricing

Leeds United are charging Southampton £47 a ticket for the final game of the Championship season. 😨

An absolute disgrace, Southampton charged Leeds fans £30 earlier in the season. I wouldn’t blame any Southampton fan for boycotting the fixture. 😡

And so they should. It's time fans started to say no en masse.

It's an absolute disgrace.
Leeds and Boro agreed reciprocal pricing which is why we were charged much cheaper prices. I believe most other clubs do this with Leeds.

Apparently Southampton and Leeds couldn't agree on reciprocal pricing so Southampton fans have been charged the same price as the walk up Leeds fans in that stand.

So are Southampton to blame or Leeds?
Well Leeds are still the club that are charging indefensible prices...

But Southampton seem to be one of the only (if not the only) clubs in the Championship that haven't agreed the reciprocal cheapish away pricing. So there must be a reason for that. They presumably refused to reduce their own ticket prices for Leeds fans so got bummed twice as hard in return.

It's odd though because I'm sure Leeds and Boro agreed on £30 away tickets each way. That is the same price as what Southampton charged Boro and a quick google tells me they also charged Leeds fans £30. So you would think Southampton/Leeds could have agreed to £30 fairly easily.

Leeds fans will pay the £47 for the unsold seats thats the problem

We were part of this deal?
Yes, we were part of the deal - it was club by club. Many clubs turned it down, actually.
Middlesbrough Supporters Forum were asked for our opinion. I personally said right away we should do this. And was pleased I was backed up by the rest of the Forum and MFC.
It meant that Boro fans travelling to Leeds saved a fortune on tickets.

When I researched it earlier in the season I found that many clubs had turned down the deal. Sometimes because the home fans of the other club were not happy about possibly paying more than Leeds away fans at their stadium. Also, Leeds dictated what price category the other club could charge for their away fans.
The fact that Boro were away first made it easier for us to stomach the deal.
