Press Conference - Swansea

It’s difficult to listen to the same rhetorical questions, and inevitable answers, interview after interview.
Carrick must dread some of these pre match pressers.

They do genuinely ask the same questions every time. What is the actual point

Not always the same journalists though.
But remember they are asking questions for their own articles, they own social media and their own listeners etc not necessarily the same people tuning in to the whole press conference.

It is pretty much the same journalists. Only one I find who puts some thought into his questions is the northern echo guy. Everyone else just asks the same ones

There is a core of reporters who ask the same questions every week.
Regular listeners can accurately guestimate what articles they are going to write just by the questions, and predict the strap-lines. It's predictable.
Dominic Shaw always asks interesting, probing questions, which is refreshing.(y)

Carrick is really keen to talk about using different methods and strategies for bringing on players and developing youngsters: he visibly perks up when explaining how his training and Management philosophy works and how this reflects on the way players interact-to get the best out of them - but that doesn't get headlines, so he's rarely asked about that.

You can tell when he's had enough when he says "I've told you that before", "I said that to you last time", "As I`ve said many times"......

His media conferences could easily be under ten minutes to tell the fans what we want to know.

It should be like all the police documentary programmes. Give a pre prepared statement which covers all the usual bone questions and then answer 'no comment' to anything else. 👍
🤣 yeah, use the Harry Callahan approach and pull his magnum out at annoying reporters! “Dirty Micky”

It's become absolutely pointless these press conferences.

Same questions every single week.

Carrick must hate doing the press conferences.
