I used to love the xmen cartoon as a kid in the 90s, watched first 2 episodes of the revival last night and it's top drawer - many of the original voice cast reprising roles apart from a few who have sadly passed away


10 episodes in season 1 on Disney+, second season greenlit and 3rd season planned

I'd love to see a revival of more great 80's & 90's cartoons - I've recently binged my way through Ulysses 31, Dungeons and Dragons, Jayce and the wheeled warriors, Visionaries, Centurions, The Raccoons and original He-man.

I'd say Dungeons and Dragons would be ripe for it as they never got to go home before it was cancelled it.

One thing is for sure, in the 80s they definitely knew how to write a banging theme tune. But I nearly bought a record of Ulysses 31 recently but as it's a French production the song is in French... luckily I googled it first 😂 sounds very strange in French.
 
Got to say, even though i'm a huge comic book fan these days, I never really bothered with the superhero/fantasy cartoons of the 80s and 90s as a kid. I remember watching The Phantom 2040 and He-Man (and of course, Thundercats) but bizarrely skipped X-Men or any of the animated Batman or Spider-Man series.

I was a big TMNT fan though, which might explain it (yes I'm aware that was originally a comic book!)
 
Thundercats was a good one, it had a decent anime reboot in 2011 but cancelled after 23 episodes


There was also thundercats roar in 2020 which got panned, and rightfully so

The Ulysses song is probably the greatest theme tune in history.
I like how most 80s cartoons set out what's going on by way of a banging rock opera theme tune.
The greatest of them all however is transformers. Brutal toy execs killing off all the main characters in the movie so they could sell more toys. It's an approach I would like to see cartoons go back to. Team rocket manage to catch Pikachu and squash him with a rock. Igbo pigbo or goes apeshit and murders everyone in the night garden that sort of thing. Toughen kids up.
