Well said Stan Collymore (warning expletive)

Out of those ten teams, 6 have played in the lower leagues and are a disgrace to turn this down. What may have swayed these teams is the potential loss of the 2 parachute payments of £50m & £40m. Hope the Government Minister decides to force this on the Premier League teams.

Bournemouth and Forest🙄

I mean forest have a very good chance of being relegated. Especially after been found guilty of 'cheating'. They will need a fire sale to get players off the books.

That's bizarre at best. Although parachute payments will maybe make them less arsed. How many years did it take them to be promoted to the top flight?

Bournemouth look pretty stable. Yet spent most of there recent history in the EFL.

People who swear are generally seen as not so bright and don't seem able to discuss in a coherent manner. It may not be true but first impressions!!

I've read about this thing about 3 times in the last 2 months but no journo has ever said what is changing in a clear manner so to me its as clear as mud
Currently, a relegated side gets Parachute dosh plus a championship size share of the EFL Sky TV deal ( about 4m )
If you don't get parachute money then you get a championship size Solidarity payment from PremLeague ( about 4.5m )
At no point does any club in the EFL get direct payments from a money pot from any of the Prem clubs
So I had a guess at this 900m whatever over 6 years and IF its extra (really just a guess ) that would be 150m a year for All 72 clubs and the championship usually gets a 5 times share compared to L1 2x share and L2 1x share so in all would be between 3 and 4m for EVERY championship club (parachutes incl ) That's about where my guesses end. Anybody else guessing this out to any degree ?

Whilst I agree with Collymore on this, I cannot stand the bloke and turn the radio or TV off when he comes on. He should be nowhere near the media but is creeping his way back in.

I've not seen any detail of the deal that has been rejected but wasn't the major sticking point around who pays. I.e. should it come from all clubs equally or should the richer teams pay a bigger share.

I would guess the teams that are in the PL would far rather have a system with parachute payments than one without so they aren't a fan of anything that would give the relegated clubs less of an advantage.
