Johnny Rotten

His parents were famously Irish immigrants hence his autobiography being titled 'no blacks. no dogs. no irish' from the signs on the boarding houses.
The ignorant irony of what he is saying is clearly lost on him. But then the tory government is full of second generation immigrants hell bent on pulling the ladder up.
Yes, his "irony" has gone full circle.
His public image is not what he wanted.
All seems a bit contrived.
:(

Is that a song lyric roofie1 😀😜
I fell in love with an alien being
Whose skin was jelly – whose teeth were green
She had the big bug eyes and the death-ray glare
Feet like water wings – purple hair
I was over the moon – I asked her back to my place
Then I married the monster – from outer space

The days were numbered – the nights were spent
In a rent-free furnished oxygen tent
When a cyborg chef served up moon beams
Done super rapid on a laser beam
I needed nutrition to keep up the pace
When I married the monster from outer space

We walked out – tentacle in hand
You could sense that the earthlings would not understand
They’d go… nudge nudge …when we got off the bus
Saying it’s extraterrestrial – not like us
And it’s bad enough with another race
But **** me… a monster …from outer space

In a cybernetic fit of rage
She ***ed off to another age
She lives in 1999
With her new boyfriend – a blob of slime
Each time I see her translucent face
I remember the monster from outer space

It's just age, that's all. We were all cool in our youth, but some of us lose our way and some more than others.

I feel a bit sorry for these guys. As my old Mam used to say "there's no fool like an old fool", but the luckiest old fools are the ones who don't have the 24-hour glare of international media exposure.
Sorry mate age is no excuse. There's no hormonal switch that trips and transforms you from champion of the oppressed to golf club bar gammonista. I'm older than I've ever been, and if anything get angrier every day about how this country treats the dispossessed.

There’s a fair bit of truth in his words and he tries to pick and qualify them, sometimes failing short of the mark.

Some people are quick to call others out and point the finger at them before watching and reading carefully what is said.

Never follow your heroes into old age.

Next : Fearghal Sharkey blames river polution on invasive species.

Malcontented men of a certain age. There are a lot of them about, they're very vocal and they all blame others for their own lives not turning out how they wanted.

Always puzzles me why old rock stars and the like are asked their opinion on political matters, as if they have some great incite into the public psyche.
