the amount of ex St Marys kids who went on to excel in their field is quite amazing
And the Art College punches at a National level with the Boro and Hartlepool campuses

I love this description of him and it could be any of us on here. 
An all-rounder and charismatic renaissance man, he had strong opinions – which he loved sharing – and was generous with advice, gifts, support, stories and well-worn jokes.
I would add Teesside folk to that statement and not just St Mary's.
