for me, it has to be The Bill, I still watch the old episodes on a Sat morning on W......they could easily resurrect this one and start some new series.......as our song went on our European Tours, Geordies at home, watching The Bill......(y)

Couldnt get enough of the OGWT shambolic live acts and some bloody good ones ....Would it work now? why not - no set as such just play music with no frills, dancers ALL LIVE ... see below 6 minutes of manic madness yet very listenable

The trouble with bringing back the OGWT is they wouldn’t have someone like “whispering Bob” introducing it they’d have some overexcited pillock who doesn’t understand what a microphone does.

thought about this and to add a bit of reality and spontanaity Bob Mortimer - at the risk of been ageist he would appeal to the yuff and to us old farts

What kind of music would an OGWT type prog have on? The 1970s was a golden time for rock - Later with Jools Holland probably has the right mix now.

later - too polished and diverse. - mainly bands that have deals and mainstream .....loads of unsigned bands doing the curcuits - Cluny, Georgian and below. Remember the Old Greys had loads of unsigned bands - on a weekday on BBC2 at 11ish

I would have said Ace Of Wands, but we had Jonathan Creek.

Catweazle
Timeslip
King Cinder
The Tomorrow People (in the proper format, not the 'Marvel /DC SciFi channel version)

If you look at US TV then I think you can see why it's not always a good idea. I'm thinking of Magnum, Hawaii 5-0 and others that they've redone. Best to leave the classics alone.

I would second asred regarding Utopia though as it is not only recent, but the door was left wide open for more.

I'd say the same for a continuation of Hannibal.

Another thing to consider is that we tend to limit the number of episodes which arguably adds to the lasting impression that some shows leave.
