Right then, where does the blame lie?

I think we can all agree that we aren’t getting into the play offs this season. Which was surely the minimum aim at the start of the season. Truth be told we my be pushing our luck to finish top half.

So is it, the recruitment team for not providing the coaching team with a squad capable of a top six finish?

The coaching team for not getting the best out of the players? Team selection and in game tactics?

Or the players for being unable to shoot straight and pass to red shirt.

What a dismal season this will fizzle out to be

That, for me.

Injuries
January recruitment.

Ultimately too much disruption to the team throughout the entire season.

A ridiculous number of injuries coupled with two of our best players then going to a tournament during the season. Don’t forget to add selling one of our key players in Rogers without a replacement, bringing in and having to bed new players straight away in Ayling and Azaz, and finally selling Crooks who would have been a key part of the squad off the pitch as well as contributing on it.

Last season, Carrick hardly changed the team from memory. We knew who played where. Players knew where they needed to be.

Now it just seems like a free for all up front with this interchanging attack. We get up the pitch and don’t know what to do with it. We lose the ball and players don’t know how to react.

It’s been a mess.

Our season has been gutted by injuries, we get some back and then get more injuries. Chopping and changing the team game in game out is never going to give us the consistency we need.

Here's something for the Chicken Lickens to ponder. While it may seem like the sky is falling in cos your team didn't meet your lofty expectations, just remember this:

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that’s the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
For life is quite absurd
And death’s the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it’s your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life’s a piece of ****
When you look at it
Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true.
You’ll see it’s all a show
Keep ’em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you’re going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

The manager firmly, won't play a ST up top, sticks with the same favourites week in week out, no threat up top, can't defend and plays a system that everyone in the league knows how to counter. On top of that recruitment and the chairman

Carrick. He’s persisting with the formation that isn’t working, and just swapping defenders and midfielders about hoping that they all might have a good game. The only fit striker we have is playing right wing. Our second choice keeper keeps getting the nod when he’s made a couple of howlers recently.

Gibson. Hasn’t given Carrick the tools to allow us to compete.

The crowds won’t fall that low, we are missing a couple of pieces to complete the jigsaw.
Stop with the wind ups man.

Even the last time we got promoted we spent 10m on a striker in January to do it. That I'm afraid is a big missing commitment.

We nearly got there with Archer last season. No such investment was made in a striker this time around and here we are.

The recruitment team seem to think if we don't get target A then it's alright to leave gaping holes in the squad. I'm afraid you can't do that over a 46 game season.
