Hackney and Howson in midfield

Howson was streets ahead of every Boro player tonight. Hackney was again poor again. I know i am not allowed to say that on here but was at the game and thats what i saw. Still in Preston in fact.

Hardly had a shot on target , keeper was terrible, as was Thomas, Djiksteel when he came on, Clarke and numerous others.

Thought Thomas was absolutely fine. Agree on the others.
 
Another thing is, they actually play as a pair and each one knows their role… Howson to the right, Hackney to the left. When Barlaser plays he drops so deep it just disrupts the system.

Barlaser reminds me of when we had Doriva playing in place of Boateng. He was great as a “sitter” , but nowhere near enough mobile enough to play in a midfield two.
 
I thought everyone played ok, some mistakes cost us, also some poor decisions in the final third. Second half rang rings round then. Like Hull and Rotherham matches we really should have won.
Dijksteel had an absolute mare of a performance, I have been at another match most likely pre Carrick where he had a full 90 minutes like that
