Yeah fair enough. I think everyone has a figure in mind and i definitely could afford a £30 increase i just don't agree with it, not sure the entertainment and enjoyment is there to warrant an increase.

Me and the boys will just watch it at home without the long walk back along dockside road 🤣

There'll be so many people in this boat.

Yeah im 99% i'll be saying No. I'm not looking forward to telling the kids as they'll be devastated.

Feel for you mate

Sorry to hear that but I don’t think you’ll be alone sadly.

It’s a real own goal this from a “community club”

I'm fortunate that the £30 increase (again) isn't an amount I'll necessarily miss, and I imagine its the same for plenty of others.

There will be some, though, who in principle feel it isn't justifiable at the present time, which is understandable.

I suppose we'll have to see whether this 'aggressive' style works and sales remain similar. Usually they appear to be softer in their approach, especially when they want more out of you.

I haven't had a ST for a few seasons now but still go to around 90% of games (only missed Ipswich and WBA so far this season) and I just can't picture me getting one with the prices constantly going up.

I'm really undecided.
It's not that we'll miss out promotion, but I've forgotten the good feeling of going home after a good display. It's poor at the moment and I struggle to see what will kick start us into a good run. However the biggest factor is my disenchantment with football currently, poor officials, changes to rules, off-side, goal kicks, VAR (I know not in this league) players falling over pathetically, time wasting 'injuries' to manage the game. It used to be a fair contest between two sides.
I've opened myself up for criticism I know, but that's how I'm feeling.
I understand 100%. I go with my two boys (12yr and 14yr) and cant remember too many times where we've all come away buzzing, where we've spoke about a good performance from a certain player, where we've checked the league table and been looking forward to the next game. They love the club and play as Boro on FIFA, ask for shirts for xmas etc and have no interest in any other top teams so they are Boro mad its just became quite mundane and the entertainment and excitement isn't there. It may be a bad season and may be down to me to educate them on this and try to get them to look ahead and take this season on the chin but its hard and when the prices go up AGAIN, it just feels like a proper smack in the chops off the club.

I'm sure the Red Faction will be making a carefully worded banner in time for the Plymouth game

they got wind last season of the increase, i'm guessing the club has kept tight lipped about the latest increase

If you pass on the early bird im guessing the increase will be at least double in the region of £50-60 (on this season's earlybird) when they go back on sale in June

Regardless? So if they increase 5-10% every season would you continue to renew? I'm not having a go or being chewy im just wondering if you have a figure in mind that if you saw as the price for your renewal would make you seriously think twice.
For me it would totally depend on what I earned that year and how much everything else was going up (or indeed, not).

If they hiked it up from £510 to £600 or something next year, for the exact same type of season (ie challenging for play-offs at best) then I'd just assume they'd lost the plot, though.

This rise is a surprising one in my opinion, given the timing, and whilst they always 'get it wrong' in one sense (some people always complain about rises, or even freezes) I do think they're in danger of pushing a lot of fans into the hands of IPTV providers now. Maybe that's what they want, to strengthen the cause for the abolition of the 3pm blackout?

Stopped being a community club a long time ago.

It's a business, end of.
Of course it is, though in fairness I can't remember the last time they tried to pedal the galling 'community club' nonsense. I think it was something Gibson said in about 1998 wasn't it? Back when everyone was still eating from the palm of his hand.

Next season would be my 38th year of having a season ticket, but don’t think I’ll bother. I can afford it but my lad has lost interest and has probably only been to 8 games this season.

I think we’ll just pick and choose next year, go to a couple more away games and maybe have a couple in the Legends Lounge.

The club have totally underestimated people’s feelings once again. Really really poor from them and I think it will show.

That's 30% odd not renewing. If the club had a third of ST holders across the board not renewing they'd **** themselves. I'm shocked at the result i really thought we'd see 75-80% saying Yes.

The thing is though, we are all annoyed right now but we will stew on it over the next couple of weeks and more people will renew than have actually pressed that button. Because we end up giving in to the club we love. Gibson knows that.

It's just a shame he takes the p1ss out of the people of Middlesbrough over and over again

A lot maybe be a gut reaction and change their mind over the next few weeks.

I don’t think I will tho.

Undecided. It's not the £30 raise that bothers me, although that is a **** take. It's the fact that I only have till mid march to pay. That's one payday. And got plenty on, alls it takes its an unexpected bill and that's that.

Most deprived area of the UK
Lost more than we've won at home.
Comes across like we have decided to throw the towel in on the season in January.

Its a proper **** take. How I wish one of these fans meetings took place this week so we could ask wtf they are playing at.

The more I type the more angry I get. Went from undecided to no in the length of this post 🤣
