Rogers

Him and Jones are very similar. If they can get the consistency they will be PL players. (y)
Sort of similar but also different.

Similar in that they're both a bit raw and the end product is inconsistent.

Jones however is much better out of possession. Works his nuts off, not afraid to put a foot in. That and the threat of his pace means he nearly always offers something positive, even if not on it in an attacking sense.

If Rogers isn't on it, he contributes less. However would agree he has more potential than Jones. When it clicks he looks like a prem level player already. Just need to see more of it.

Both are perfect for where the club is right now and I'd agree both have attributes to cope in the PL if they keep developing.

Let’s not forget he’s still only a young player in only really his second proper season of playing 1st team football.

He’s going to be up and down as that’s what you get from players at that point, the big thing tho no matter how he is playing he creates chances for others.

Was on Twitter/X the other week top 20 players in championship who improve their teams chances of scoring and he was top. He plays killer passes some may be under hit or over hit at times but that ability to unlock a team with one pass or one moment is what makes him potentially so special for us.

I’ve said from the start he’ll be Akpom’s long term replacement, has all of the attributes to be a superb no. 10 👍

It wasn’t his best game but his ability to run with the ball from deep positions into attacking positions is fantastic - he just needs to work on his final pass because he got into some great positions again today and that final ball let him down

I know what you mean. It’s almost like he finds it too easy at times then takes his eye off the ball when playing the easy pass. I think that’ll come though.

I’m not totally convinced by his performance today tbh, I’m thinking he maybe had one eye on the semifinal as he lacked aggression in the first half. Ok it was a nice layoff for the Forss’ goal but he could have had a couple himself had he been more bullish.

I thought he was great - always looking forward.

Created a couple of chances, forced the keeper in to a good save.

His running with the ball is superb, but his passing was variable - great ball to Jones in the second half great quick feet for the assist, but a couple of times where he underhit passes.
I thought it was an average performance from him today and on several occasions he made the wrong pass. In the first half, we had a break and he passed right when the ball was screaming to go to the man on the left who was in acres of space.

He got it right on the Forss goal though.

You can see a big improvement in him since he first arrived.

What happened with the Crooks one involving Rogers, near the end? I had to pop out to walk the dog but I was listening on talk sport and they said great run by Rogers then he set up Crooks, but Crooks failed to score? I got the impression reading comments on here that maybe that was a bit kind to Rogers!

He played Crooks in who got his shot away but I would say it was a decent block from the Millwall defender rather than it being anybody’s fault.

This. It's why, for me, he should get picked ahead of Greenwood - another young player capable of good and bad - but (unlike Rodgers) not great.

hes a pleasure to watch running with the ball in full flight, surprisingly quick. Needs another 30 odd games to develop tbf to him, hopefully he will find that final decision/ball/shot with experience. I thought he looked a bit lazy the first few times ive seen him but impressed with the last few games. Maybe a 10 or Left forward dont think hes a striker.
