I was today years old when I learned you can hold down the 0 and get the degrees ° symbol

Anyone - How do you get the Euro currency sign if its not marked on a keyboard?

On a phone, yes. A lot of letters etc have long press functions.

on mine alt+shift+E works for a € sign too

I just tried it, I can't get it to make a ° symbol so I use ALT0176 instead

In Linux:

setxkbmap -option "compose:rwin"
setxkbmap -option "compose:lwin"

Then the windows key and e followed by = gives you €
There really is a use for the windows key!

€ is 'alt gr 4'

€ - hold down alt gr and press 4 (which has € symbol at the bottom right of the key) - on laptop.

That saves me typing euros.

Haha, honestly that is the 1st time that I have noticed a "Alt Gr" key on my keyboard!
I am going to sign off now as I have learnt my "new thing everyday" !
