Football insider reporting were after this fella. Scored 18 goals for Blackpool last season. 6 foot 4. 28 year old, been linked with a couple of championship clubs already. Free transfer

Released by Blackpool? So they didnt want him? Or his contract expired and he told them he didnt want to sign another?

Something doesnt fit...

Last season was literally the first decent one he's had in his career, the one before was okay at best.
Non-scoring forward in every other season.

It's a no from me.

Just looked at his stats elsewhere, not what I‘d call prolific, but he sounds a big lad and is cheap which fits the mould i guess. In Warnock I trust, but with some reservation if this is a Gill idea. Blackpool scored less goals than us last season in a lower league

Blackpool Highlights.

Looks like another Gestede to me.

Haha was just watching that video and he did look a bit like that. Just cos we have lost Gestede I hope the club don’t think we have to replace him with a similar player ! Even his technique in them videos look similar . Apart from his goal at Sunderland I couldn’t see Gestede having that one in the locker

He is too short for Warnock, but I get your point. I’d see if we could get Borja Baston I think Villa were releasing him

Yeah his height might go against him but he is still excellent as that type of hold up striker, his back to the goal play is outstanding and he is very strong. If we have 4 strikers for this season I wouldn’t mind him being 1 of them, Warnock can sign a giant aswell if he likes

Bola was player of the season in 2018/19 for Blackpool, but didn't look good enough for the Championship last season when he played for us.

I'm sure Cardiff fans said similar when he signed Medez Laing etc. Just because someone looks like Rudy doesn't mean they will he a 'Rudy'.

He clearly wants a unit who can lead the line. He's had one at every club he's had and they ain't always prolific.

I still think folk don't realise we are skint. I'm not saying this lad is the answer but he's free and may do a job. Even if it's until we find someone better.

I trust Warnock to spot a lower league player than Woody. The style of play is going to become very 'Cardiff'. We ain't got the players to do that.

If he's free, cheap wages and an option from the bench or offers something different (a physical presence to ruffle the opposing centre halves feathers) than I can't see it doing much harm.

Warnock did imply that out of all positions, strikers were going to be the most difficult to sign. Whether people like Fletcher and Britt or not, getting someone any better is not going to be easy without spending a fortune.

I can't get to stressed about any who's free or on loan. You look at Bola and Browne and we'd probably get our money back on both.

It's when you spend 7mil on Saville or 7mil on Flint that you start questioning people's madness😕

You look at the signings Warnock made at Cardiff.... Seriously look at them. I imagine our fans wouldn't have wanted any of them (at the time). I really think he looks more at the character of a player than ability.

He says he backs himself to make players 'better'. Think we've already seen that in 8 games.

Gnanduillet looks like a forward who can upset opposing defenders and not get knocked off the ball to easily. If he can ruffle some of the big defenders in league 1 he might do likewise in the championship. Might not be the answer but possibly worth a try. I believe in Warnocks judgement in assessing potential, he quickly sorted Gestede out !!!

This lad might not be as good as Britt or Fletcher on the whole but if he is more suited to the style we will be playing then it should be a good signing.

Players suit styles, no point playing Aguero if your going to play long ball etc.

Based on how Warnock plays, he’s prefer to have Chris Wood instead of Lacazette etc.

I don't know anything about him but reading this thread doesn't fill me with confidence. I don't want someone that is just going to upset defenders, we've had Hugill and Gestede to do that and they were both rubbish. His goal scoring record before last season was pretty poor. If we're signing players from the lower leagues then go for the ones with a couple of seasons in the top scorer charts to make a step up. An average League one player isn't going to become a top-end championship player. Browne, Bola, Dijksteel, Johnson were all top level League One players that struggled with the step up so I'd want their standard as a minimum. Maybe this guy is that standard and people's comments have been too harsh, I admit I have no knowledge of that league.

Looking at his goals from the last two seasons, the quality of the opposition keepers seems absolutely shocking, is this something fairly consistent with league one? If so its no surprise players struggle with the step up.

Of the goals I saw 3/4 of them probably wouldnt have gone in against a championship keeper
