Didn't know what they were voting for

This really is pathetic. This is supposed to be a football forum. Non of us know naff all about politics so why don’t we all stop this ridiculous “I am right, told you so nonsense, and grand standing. Politics is not important to the likes of us, as the old line goes....”If you wouldn’t have a pint with them, don’t vote for them.!”✌️

Er, perhaps because it affects us in every single aspect of life...

However I don't know if you're being ironic or not, so I'm hedging my bets.

When it's such a big decision, that will screw up pretty much all of our lives, it IS important. To be honest it's voter apathy like yours that has allowed us to get into such a state.

No Michael, no irony, they just don’t touch me or my family. Johnson, Starmer, whoever the LibDem chimp is at the moment, Sturgeon ......bunch of losers, scratching a career out of pretending to be important. Ignore them and the media, your life will be happier without the constant rubbish they pretend is news

Well the do, in every aspect of your life. Sad that you can be so blase about it.

This is the point though mate, when brexit hits, and you end up with less money in your pocket, worse public services and fewer job prospects you and your family WILL be touched. Assuming you live in the UK that is. Being ignorant to an impending economic disaster won't shield you from it's effects.

You would expect actual politicians to know about politics though right? Things like what they were voting to accept & enforce on the country and then not being surprised by the 'small print' a few months later.

Like voting for a referendum and then not accepting the outcome? Surely they knew there were 2 outcomes?

I am neither ignorant nor apathetic, just been around long enough to realise it‘s only your own behaviour that affects your life. I’ve tried voting for everyone over the years and none of them make a difference to my existence. Family, community (incl Boro) are all that matters, life is too short for all this political rubbish.

It will be once the brexit medicine shortages kick in :ROFLMAO:

The outcome of the referendum was relatively close 52:48 and we are on course for hardest of hard Brexits that didn't appear in any pre-vote information by Vote Leave or from any of the main characters promoting it.

We've gone from the "easiest deal in history" in which "we hold all the cards" to being hoodwinked by the EU into having a border between parts of the UK and not reading the "small print".

Bit of rum deal all round.

Entirely predictable, I'm afraid.

The deal he voted for a few months back he now thinks is rubbish, so why did he vote for it?

And anyone with at least a half functioning brain could see it coming from a mile off.

Not surprising, therefore, to see boomer brexiteers refusing to accept that they have been hoodwinked and damaged the country irreparably for generations to come.

This is supposed to be a football forum.

No, it really isn't.

If you don't care about politics why come on this thread?

Why not just keep that nugget of information to yourself whilst partaking in the multiple threads on football or telling the odd dad joke.

Your food is likely to be more expensive in the future.
Your family holiday is likely to be more expensive in the future.
Your health care is likely to be more expensive in the future.

Tell us again how it doesn't affect any of us,

Just like every single year of my life so far, and yes next year maybe worse for a while but it will sort itself out , it always does. My point is it doesn’t matter who pretends to be running things, they never really change anything significantly. Life is too short to waste on arguing about what you can’t influence or control.

The question as to whether the Withdrawal Agreement genuinely is problematic as described by IDS because it is only contained within a Sun article is entirely irrelevant and misses the point. I'd go further to say that it is clutching at straws to try and defend the indefensible. But in summary, IDS is moaning about liabilities related to loans that would have been given by the EIB whilst the UK was still a member of the European Union. The scale of those liabilities will depend on the levels of defaults on loans made through the EIB and European Financial Stability Mechanism.

The story here though is that IDS championed the negotiating skills of Johnson and the massive victory the WA represented, voted against proper scrutiny of the WA (his party kicking out anybody that dared to suggest it might be a good idea to scrutinise it properly) and then went on a camapign to tell us all that this was an 'oven ready' deal that would sail through to completion if people voted for the Tory party. On that basis they secured a massive majority and now, it turns out, he hadn't read it properly, it wasn't 'oven ready' given that it was only ever a Withdrawal Agreement and not a trade agreement and in any event it isn't such a great deal after all. The biggest problem though is that it's not just this cretin but most of them. This is the most corrupt government for generations and people still defend them. It beggars belief.
