Saudi’s pull out of the Newcastle takeover

I would honestly sense a sigh of relief if I was a Magpie fan.

What and be stuck with Mike Ashley? My girlfriends step dad is a Newcastle fan and he has had his heart set on this for ages. I’m sure he’s absolutely devastated he absolutely hates Ashley. Gonna wind him up now with a text

I'm so happy with this news, it would have been a travesty if they had taken over.

I'm not even bothered about their results on the pitch or signings, it's a case of human rights for me.

Even better, as most of them were glad to ignore that provided they were going to significantly invest in the club

Hope they are used to Steve Bruce by now :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well Ashley is no saint but morally I don’t think I could get on board with this Saudi group.

I wonder how many would have sniffed at a Saudi takeover at our Club? I suspect less than you think.

There is another bid on the table for the same amount from a wealthy American also with money to burn.
The worry with that one is they may get the CEO they wanted. He turned the Saudis down.

He's run them at a profit in something like 7 of the last 10 seasons.
Still not good enough for the supporters of a club who imagine themselves to be some sort of giants of football.

This is exactly why I can never understand it when our fans say we are “badly run”. Getting a few footballing decisions wrong is one thing, but “well run” football clubs (ie where the owners are turning a profit and effectively exploiting the fans) are the ones who get the most flak!

Would honestly be fine with the American taking them over and making them successful, as long as it's not a Middle Eastern murderous regime.

Ashley has done a great job there- like him or not. A well established Prem club, financially sound. Ok, he will never win popularity with those idiotic fans. A lot of clubs would like the Ashley blueprint- because it works
