11:45pm, just when all the cycle to work crowd would be tucked up in bed ready for an early start tomorrow.

Are you staying up to get a voucher?
 
My Son, who works bloody hard for just over minimum wage, has an Specialized enduro which is in desperate need for a service, the service on these are often well over £150, he has asked me to stay up to see if I can get him a voucher. I'm not sure what the rules or requirements are for these vouchers, even after research, very little is known about what and who can apply and for what reasons.. I guess I'll just apply and see.
 
Well I guess I was having sympathy with the people who cycle to work and maybe have to get up early, so having a cycle voucher scheme opening at 11:45pm isn't the best of times.
 
I’m sure people would enjoy it but nobody has managed to get on to grab one of these. As mentioned the site crashed two minutes before it went live and is still down Presumably the late Site launch time was instigated because the Government feared the site would be swamped. Well they were right there.

Wouldn’t this have been better administered by the way by a means test of some kind because I don’t see how it won’t be used to service any bike in reality by a repairer happy for the business?
 
I can't understand why this is being limited in numbers especially on a first come first served basis. Is someone more deserving than another just because they manage to get on a website.

It's not concert tickets. It's the government incentivising cycling travel. Surely it should be available to anyone that needs it.

PS I don't. I like nothing more than tinkering with my 5 and 3/4 bikes.
 
Think the 50,000 is a first batch. There will a second and subsequent release of vouchers.

I think what they should have done is allowed over a period of a week applicants to register on the site and then say issue them by a random lottery or something. Then those unsuccessful be automatically entered for the second release of vouchers. It would have prevented a crash where nobody managed to get a voucher.
 
Is there going to be money towards Home energy efficiency soon? Windows, insulation etc. The wife got told there was but I haven’t seen anything.
