Bristol City vs Middlesbrough [21/02] Match-Day Thread

Christ, this is hard to watch. What the hell has happened to the Boro that played West Brom off the park in the early part of the season? Incredible decline. I’m sure they do, but they look a bit apathetic.

    New kit - any news?

Why on earth we ever go away from dark blue and black as an away kit is beyond me - Inter's vertical stripes is pretty much the coolest kit in world football, for me.

    Time for Kit/Colour Change?

It wasn't a troll thread, honest. When Boro have gone all red, for example, I just think we look like a BTEC Liverpool. I look at Dutch Orange, Fiorentina's Viola, Wolves' Old Gold, Dortmund Yellow etc. and just think it works really well. The stands look better when you're united behind one...

    Time for Kit/Colour Change?

I've said this before but I do wonder if the Boro should consider, in their 150th year, a kit colour change. Obv, our first kit was white with the blue piping. I wonder if we should go to purple? Become a unique club with a unique colour? I know people are scared of change but it would be great...

    Bradford City New Crest

That's just a subjective response - they've consulted and thought it through, that's the point. The supporters, the folks who are going to wear it, asked for something and the designers delivered. The Boro would have done a low end Chicken shop!

    Bradford City New Crest

Breaks my heart when I see the Boro's badge - it's absolutely awful, completely thrown together with no thought. Bradford City have done it properly - listened to the fans and thought every aspect through. Have a look - Same City, New Bantam on Youtube. Presentation style a bit shouty...

How come every other side is 'great'?

It's wearing a bit thin. Every side we play 'will be there or thereabouts' or 'it's a hard place to come' or 'we knew it would be a hard game' or 'they're full of quality'... It's management-speak. It's nonsense. How about the Boro being 'there or thereabouts' of the Riverside being 'a hard...

What odds on a Haaland hatick today

I went to the game. Thought I'd see what it was feel what it was like to be a supporter of a globally successful team. Here's my reflections... The absolute iron grip Pep has on the team! I’ve heard it said that the time of the great player is over; this is the time of great coaches and...

    I can't help feeling we're missing a chance

But, I really do feel this season's Championship is one that can deliver promotion for Middlesbrough. As an Ayresome Parka, I would never, never criticise Steve, but the group feels under-funded - particularly when you take into consideration the funds earned from the sales of Gibson, Traore...

That is shocking - ref comments to wilder

Blaming the ref is looking the in wrong place. You can't concede three goals, misplaces hundreds of passes, a handful of chances, lose 50-50s etc etc and then distil the result down to a moment or two influenced by the referee. It's sport, referees are going to have a different opinion on things...

    I love our football club

Our club can't be measured in trophies alone. I love it.

I know this is daft (ticket request)

You're right. It is. That makes me look like a glory hunter I suppose. Can I say I went to Hartlepool for the 2-2? :)

I know this is daft (ticket request)

But if any other FMTTMer has two tickets going, I'd like to take my lad. We live in Nottingham, he plays for County academy U15s so we can't get to many games. My first game was Wolves at Ayresome in 1979. That makes me feel old. If anyone has two or knows someone, let me know. Ta.
