    Team for Cardiff (A)

If Gilbert is given a chance and impresses, It seems like a missed opportunity earlier in the season when we were down to the barebones and he wasn't used.

Blackpool interested in signing Hayden Coulson...

It will be a free or a nominal fee at best, with a decent size sell on clause in case he has a worldie and goes for a substantial fee down the line. Hope he does well there.

Danny Murphy’s disparaging comments about Everton last night

My issue is the teams that tend to play "longball" generally have very technically deficient players. So these long balls often become 60 yard hoofed clearances that drift aimlessly through to the keeper. Any tactic or style played ineffectively is boring and bland to watch.

Danny Murphy’s disparaging comments about Everton last night

There's a distinct difference between what you describe i.e a winger getting wide and playing crosses in the box for a aerially dominant striker to attack, and centre halves playing 60/70 yard punts and playing percentage, turgid football that has been the benchmark of Pulis, Warncok, Dyche et al.

What have Coventry done differently to us?

True - I agree stats only tell part of the picture and can be misleading, however, the reason I specifically sought out that particular stat is to demonstrate something I have witnessed in the games myself. We are simply far, far, more effective as a team when he is on the pitch, regardless of...

What have Coventry done differently to us?

I'd add to that chapter 1 and chapter 5 were periods where Isiah Jones spent far less tie on the pitch. Up until a few games ago when i worked it out, we averaged 1.6 ppg with him starting games and less than 1 ppg when he doesn't start. His importance to our team cannot be underestimated.

I need a little help seeing the positive.

And that is a key point. Historically, unless we threw a boatload of money at established big name stars, our recruitment has, being kind, been patchy. We now appear to have a well thought out plan with clear direction regarding recruitment. Yes we may lose one or two, but even if we do, the...

    Latte

But unlike last season, he won't have the upheaval of changing clubs in the summer. He's 25 and never started a season where he finished the last!

I need a little help seeing the positive.

last summer window we needed to replace our goalkepeer, centre mid, our no 10 and striker, amongst other positions. Those are 4 incredibly important positions and the spine of the team. Whilst we will still need to bolster our squad, notably centre Mid, this summer, the importance of the...

    Lewis O'Brien wants to stay

Who the frigg thinks O'Brien has the requite skills to play on the left of a 3 behind the striker. Not in a million years. He is an industrious, hard working, box to box type midfielder. To be one of the regular two sitting midfielders, he needs to improve his ball retention and passing on...

    Lewis O'Brien wants to stay

Depends on the financial size of the deal. He has been decent in patches, no more, hoepfully would kick on next season. Forest paid a fair whack to get him and Toffolo, 8 mil for them both if I remember rightly, and he will be on a good wage.

    Next seasons realistic aim

To fill the glaring holes in the squad with smart recruitment in the Rogers, RVDB, ELL model. If we do that, no reason we can't be near the pointy end of the league, however, realistically, the 3 that come down, plus probably Southampton, are going to have a significant advantage, So top 6...
