This is a bizarre one but injuries from dreams

Yes - a bad end to a brilliant dream. Playing at Wembley for England. Centre midfield and things were ticking over nicely, I kept receiving the ball under pressure but turning into space and picking out passes. Also closing down well and intercepting to win the ball. Really enjoying the...

The £5-00 Cup of Coffee in London

For black coffees (can't speak for milky ones) the likes of Greggs are where the value is - none of the chains do great coffee, so why not get your cup of 'better than instant' where it's cheaper?

    Hackney

Of course there's a risk Hackney will go this summer, but as several people have pointed out already, it's probably receded thanks to his being out of the team with injury. We all know how good he is, but from the outside looking in he's that young midfielder who had a great breakthrough...

    Luke Thomas ….

Bangura will be first choice next season if fit, with Engel as back-up. There are too many gaps elsewhere in the squad for LB to be a priority position unless one of these two are sold. We've not seen a lot of Bangura yet, but the signs are promising.

    2 Tier Premier League

Chasing promotion is completely understandable from a money perspective, but as a fan who wants to enjoy seeing the team do well it is a double-edged sword. Our last season in the PL under Karanka wasn't exactly full of fond memories.

    New UK population estimates published

Even if we could become self-sufficient in food, would we want to? A future of subsisting on turnips all winter? No thanks. It's one of the great modern achievements that thanks to global supply chains we can eat an amazing variety of foods from across the world, year round. We're going to...

    Ben White

I think White's position is fair enough. We've had a few similar over the years at Boro. Trevor Putney is one who comes to mind who apparently wasn't interested in the game other than just as a job like any other.

    Luke Ayling playing centre back

Or just reverting to a back four?

Djiksteel moving on at the end of the season ?

I've always liked Dijksteel and thought he was under-used. He's clearly not highly rated by Carrick though, who gets to see far more of him and knows far more about the game too. If he's wiling to stay as a squad player then I'd be happy to have him here next season, but he's clearly not the...

    Kalvin Phillips

Phillips is surely in too deep a rut of bad form to persist with. I'd like to see England go with either Alexander-Arnold or Stones in there, depending on quality of opposition. It would give some more tactical flexibility too, as they could switch between a back four and five. Or against the...

    Academy players - too cautious?

I wonder if Carrick has a bit of a blind spot that comes of him having spent pretty much his whole career in elite football (ok, yeah, Man Utd, but still...). There are plenty of players who aren't that technically gifted who have made good careers in the Championship and even bottom half of...

    Academy players - too cautious?

If the general standard that the academy are playing at is too low, does that strengthen the argument for the players who currently stand out in that environment being integrated into first-team matchday squads sooner as a way to expose them to better players and football - particularly for the...

    Academy players - too cautious?

True, there aren't any glaring examples of players we've let go who have made it big, although we could arguably have saved ourselves a few quid on goalkeepers. I thought it could have been that there is more competition for the best young players than when our academy was first set up, but...
