Yes, but it also worth considering the Minsk agreements before the war started which were negotiated by the West in bad faith.

If you read the article Russia has consistently tried to start a dialogue but negotiations have been scuppered by the US, even after an agreement was reached in the early stages of the conflict.

Many posters on this thread don't seem to aware of the history of this conflict. Everything you need to know about Russia, Ukraine and the US is set out very clearly in this article by Professor Jeffrey Sachs...

I've already given you the answer - US hegemony. NATO was created after the second world war as a bulwark against the Soviet Union. The Soviets had their own organisation - the Warsaw Pact, which was dissolved after the Soviet Union broke up. So why do we still have NATO? The US wants to...

American hegemony. What America wants, America gets - surrounding Russia with an unfriendly military organisation. The US get its way by bribes and threats. Countries that don't comply are dealt with. Ukraine is a case in point. Back in 2014 the democratically elected government chose a...

BoroMart, as I have posted earlier: "NATO has conducted US led extensive bombing campaigns in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia, Libya and Syria. All of these bombing campaigns were waged without UN approval." These were not defensive actions, least of all of NATO countries. NATO is an extension of US power.

Sweden has been a neutral country since the early 19th century. It has been neutral throughout two world wars and the cold war. There is nothing special about the current situation that justifies relinquishing its neutral status on the grounds of vulnerability. I think one should look to...

Why is Britain America's poodle? Why do we always do what America wants? Because it is seen as advantageous to ally with the main superpower in the Western hemisphere and foolish to oppose it's wishes. America wants NATO on Russia's border as a way of projecting power and intimidating Russia...

NATO has conducted US led extensive bombing campaigns in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia, Libya and Syria. All of these bombing campaigns were waged without UN approval. I think you will find that NATO is the one with the expansion menu.

Which is so different of course to the Western narrative that Putin is evil, he is mad, he wants to take over the whole of Europe, while the West merrily commits genocide, steals other countries dollar reserves, tries to overthrow democracies and strangles the economies of countries it doesnt...

One needs to bear in mind that Russia has been invaded twice in the last century via Ukraine and on the last occasion 27 million Russians died. Just try and get your head around that figure.
