    Fabulous book. I was just in the garden listening to birds, but it’s a fabulous book and led me to research my granddads First World War service. Rewarding and heart wrenching. A Malbec and I am on the mend though *winky thing

    Sorry to hear that make, that’s awful. Alcohol might numb the pain, but will make you feel worse - you already know. Break habits, get outside, book a trip or day out to visit somewhere you really like and have that to look forward to. Guinness zero has been brilliant for me. Thinking of you...

    A lot of people’s living standards collapsed, particularly those who were too old to retrain. Not that there was much to retrain for. Many of that generation found early graves or suffered bereavement and loneliness as their partner’s and relatives died and tge younger generation were driven...
