    Selling the seabed for profit

How do you work that out then?

    Smell of...(promotion, relegation, desperation, aspiration...)

NGL, for me, sacking someone who has stature in the game, contacts, connections, and appointing someone who is well, ... downmarket, let's be honest, it gives off a vibe that signals decline. The first decision...selling Coburn... why exactly? For his age, he's a manful performer. At the moment...

Shifty - BBC I player series by Adam Curtis

Globally, there were others preparing the ground long before her, but she was probably the most influential - even more so than Reagan - at espousing and legitimising the doctrine. I earnestly recommend you to read this

Boro after Greenwood again - surely not!

Neither is anywhere near good enough (unless we're planning on fighting relegation), but at least Burgzorg can beat a man (then F**k up).

Boro after Greenwood again - surely not!

Is this a joke? one of the worst players I can remember - niggly, greedy and basically rubbish. Stole a game for too long here before Carrick belatedly realised just how bad he was. Say it ain't so, Joe!

    Seller's (sacker's) remorse?

Excellent point. Whoever comes in needs to build on what he has embedded, evolve his style - otherwise he'll just get players backs up.

    Seller's (sacker's) remorse?

Great rant. Are you Irvine Welsh?

    Seller's (sacker's) remorse?

Cards on the table, I never wanted Carrick sacked. Yes, I was exasperated by many things last season, especially what seemed like a crucial lack of fight, but as far as I was concerend, the big picture is that Carrick had brought to the club a culture I was eager to buy into, one that contrasted...

    Someone doesn’t fancy our chances

Once we lost Doak, we were close-to-relegation quality. Wasn't there some stat that said we were 23rd for chances created in the later part of the season? Signing Travers kept us up there but now he's gone you really worry. We were thoroughly bossed by teams like Coventry, Sheff U & Sunderland...

    National Fish and Chips Day

We did have fish and chips as it goes. Liberally sprinkled Tropical Sun Fish Seasoning on both sides of de-frosted still wet basa fillets, then rolled in flour, rolled back in the fish water and double-dipped. Shallow fried in hot oil, proper chip pan hand cut chips, beans (because no mushy peas).

    Carrick wanted Iheanacho and Giles

Not playing - then selling - Clarke (and preferring Edmundson) was a fatal decision in my book. Clarke had shown himself the previous season to be a boss defender, an organiser, at this level. No surprise Derby have given him another contract. Not having a settled defence in general was what got...

Middlesbrough fans at Shrewsbury in 1986

Me too. I remember all the balls getting kicked over the stand and they used to have a fella in a rowing boat retrieving them. Remember Beagrie playing and it was so surreal someone you knew playing for the Boro. 40 years ago - mental.
