it’s the pub I most frequent , although not the nearest by far. Well recommended.
having said that , I can’t stand the misnomer that is called American football!
I was there, stewards opened the gates to let them through - a large scrap ensued , before they retreated , and the gates locked behind them as they went
I think Gateshead or South Shields have the best chance. Gateshead are doing well in the National League & could even go up this year -sustaining their position, given their poor crowds, is an issue.
Gateshead are, of course, a former football league team, having taken the league place in 1930...
I came across these by accident. They cover the late 50s period only - basically the Clough years . Interesting stats , plus a brief written summary of each season.
I wonder why only this period has been covered, and whether there are plans to cover more seasons?
Don’t like this - Pearson has said he has neurological problems & needs an operation on his back. This dismissal seems tantamount to disability discrimination
Isaacs has the best selection of ale near the station. I quite like the Zetland, but it usually only has one ale on, & it can be variable. Baker Street has a few micro pubs that do ale, but it’s a treck from the station, as is the Chapel, which sells the best ale in town
Liqueur Vaults and Pig...
