Hard to say really, he hasn't started much for West Ham but the gulf is so wide he could easily still be prolific in the Championship. I imagine he will be on decent wages but not a lot to lose on it.
Rationale I think is you can make early inroads on the first morning - new ball, especially if good conditions. If you can bowl a team out cheaply on day 1 you go a long way to winning the game.
