I always remember him, especially at away games, always being friendly to the young fans; going out of his way to sign autographs and have selfies taken. I suppose not so different from other players, but he always did it with a smile.
Aww come on PC, what’s respect got to do with anything? You can’t tell me if you were in his boots, you wouldn’t be just a little bit proud to have those medals, I’m ruddy sure I would. Just the experience of being there and soaking up the atmosphere must be incredible.
What about Ross Turnbull, not many of our players leave and end up with Champions League, Europa League, Premier League, 2 x FA Cup and Super Cup medals. OK, he was mostly employed as a back up keeper, but you can’t deny his trophy cabinet.
Not at all related, but I always remember when I was based up at Prestwick near Ayr when serving in the RN. Celtic were unceremoniously knocked out of the cup by Caledonian Thistle.
