I may well have missed him opening up about that as I unfollowed him when he started sharing anti-vax conspiracy theories during covid. Looks like he's come off Twitter now so can't see if that was before or after his mental health struggles.
Started watching it last night having never played the game - still very much worth giving it a whirl even if you might not get some of the nods and references to the game
There was one ref we had who we only knew as 'scouse' - took absolutely no nonsense at all, but we got to know him quite well after a while. Turned out he had been convicted for armed robbery 😳
This was around the same time I played in a league there. The fact that most of the refs were on day release from Kirklevington Grange tended to help keep a lid on disciplinary issues.
All mentioned above, but will give +1s to Slow Horses and The Morning Show. Also just finished Lessons in Chemistry with the (equally to Reese Witherspoon) easy on the eye Brie Larson which was quite easy going and enjoyable (but apparently not all that accurate to the book its based on)
It's a bit further afield, but would recommend King & Captain in Thirsk or Catterick - book in with Jack the manager - I wouldn't trust my face fuzz with anyone else
There's a couple of Hawker Hunters operating out of Leeming at the moment which I've seen pop up on Flight Radar - may well have been them up on Teesside.
Northern Monk Holy Faith (available in Morissons) is one of the best readily available low alcohol craft beers.
I'm also quite partial to the Corona Cero which, once you add a wedge of lime, doesn't taste much different from it's alcoholic alternative
