Zahawi sacked

I can't help but wonder if this was meant to happen days ago, but might have been delayed while the rest of the cabinet were asked to look at their own finances to avoid a domino effect of tax avoidance and further sackings/embarrassment.

"......and also the government department that is HMRC is staggeringly unethical in my view"
Zahawi, as chancellor, was HMRCs boss.

So HMRC had to work with their boss to sort an enormous tax avoidance issue out, one which they would have went after a normal person with vigour, looking to absolutely nail them.

This all stinks and unfortunately for Zahawi he was caught - he's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to high level financial wrongdoing.

What’s next in the tragicomedy that is our actual serving Government?

We all know Raab is toast too - that’s just a matter of time.

Johnson over the BBC/loan affair? I mean that would literally destroy the Tory party…which would be nice. Or over the investigation into whether he deliberately misled parliament. Or…etc

Braverman? Will the erg be able to keep Sunak vote-bribed into keeping her in place?

Sunak’s own tax affairs to come into focus?

30p Lee to assault Steve Bray maybe?

Sunak's hand has been forced but also there's a fair chance he's had to wait for "permission" from enough of the various right wing lunatic cliques in the party before being able to do it.

He's not actually in charge of anything.

Sacked for a serious breach of the ministerial code ?
More serious than the one the evil Braverman was sacked for before been reinstated by Sunak....The Corruption party .rotten to the core

I saved everyone‘s life thanks to vaccines, I cried a bit when the Queen died and if the press had just kept quiet about the tax thing then the plebs would be none the wiser and I’d still have my beak in the trough.

No apology, no acceptance of any wrong doing, no humility.
Under Tory law, he's done no wrong. He will dust himself down and look for the next loophole he can manipulate.

Below is a line taken from his letter. Why does he think it is OK for him to arrive here and flourish, yet prevent others from doing so!!!

'I arrived in this country fleeing persecution and speaking no English. Here, I built a successful business and served in some of the highest offices in government.'

So presumably give it a month, he can say he's sorry and learnt his lesson then have his job back, no problem. Nothing to see here.

I wouldn't care if they did, they're only damaging themselves when they do it. The more open and blatant they are about the corruption, nepotism and incompetence, the harder it is for traditional loyal Tory voters to continue to kid themselves.

“I believe that in no other country on earth would my story be possible” - not possible here now thanks to your government.

“In a week when a member of parliament was physically assaulted” - he can’t even stop lying in his letter after being sacked. At no point in that incident on the tube was Matt Hancock physically assaulted.

It is being worded as 'a serious breach of the ministerial code'
I suspect this is so Sunak can deflect questions as to why he re-appointed Sue Ellen after she breached the code. He will try to argue hers was less serious. After all hers was only a breach of security in the Home Office ...
