Barlaser Deal Agreed!

Not a bad fee for Rotherham as Newcastle require a 40% sell on clause. I wonder how much of the Carrick factor is used to attract this player and others? UTB ⚽

Yes I saw this earlier very positive isn’t it.

25 year mf so could be worth 20 mil in real terms very soon

so he’s a snip.

I’m guessing carrick was his idol as well he must be over the moon
Absolutely.

It makes us dangerous in a different way. To get that many assists from CM, playing for a struggling side, is a very good sign.

As well as Chuba it'll hopefully benefit Forss and probably Archer as players who like to play on the shoulder and run in behind.

Right.... let's nip this in the bud ASAP.

How do you say his name?

I've heard:

Bar-la-sar
Bar-lay-ser
Bala-zar

"Dan, welcome to Middlesbrough Football Club. Before we get on to what the fans can expect.. how'dya say your sername, like?"

From the 10 minue video I watched on YouTube, I think Giles is going to love him.
Seems to turn out of very tight spaces and run with which drags full backs to him and he loves a slide rule pass down the sides of the center backs.

Howson is a great midfielder but at times he loses the ball to easily in the tight scenarios
I wonder how it will work out, whether or not Barlaser will be second fiddle to Howson or a rotation option or even if Carrick thinks its time Howson became a sub.

Still think we need a wide man, If we can get one then it'll have been an excellent window

Depending on how the rest of the season goes, not sure if we will offer Howson a new contract on the same terms. He might have to accept a reduced contract (he is still one of our highest paid players despite already signing on reduced terms). If we are still in the champo next season, I would offer him another one year contract on lower terms. He might not accept if he has offers elsewhere and guarantees of playing time, which he might not have here next season.

It's a lot to ask Howson to play 90 mins twice a week and we have a lot of games coming up so I think he'll get plenty of chance to impress and you'd hope make himself undroppable if he's as good as Rotherham fans think he is.

There's always a chance Hackney might see a dip in form as young players sometimes do too.

Of course it also gives us the option of playing all 3 and going 433/451 for certain games or if we're getting overrun in midfield.

Watched the same video and immediately thought of playing all three. More defensive support for Giles, more attacking support for Forss/Jones/whoever
