First regular pub

When I started drinking about 78, when I was 18, it was the yellow rose, before the Boro games, I then changed for a while due to meeting work mates & go to the match with them so met in the speedway, both near to where I lived in West Lane, when I got married & moved I went in to the red before games but in the end reverted by to the yellow rose before matches, meeting my dad & mates, good days 👍
wasnt life simple . All games kicked off at 3 pm thus all scores on a telly in a living room window outside AP . 🤗

Been gone a while now that one.
That end of Cosham High St has been completely redeveloped.

Myself, The Cambridge... When Ally Brownlee used to do the quiz in there on a Monday night.
That explains why I couldn't find it last night when I tried to see it on google maps. I thought my memory had failed me :)

Remember the Empire when it had all flags on the ceiling . Or have I imagined that
It did at one point.
It had a mixture of students - mostly they lived in the Old Halls of Residence near albert Park, and locals on the way into town.
I think the name of the landlord at the time was "Ray"?

'Was that in the new extension to the back with the pool table?

Roofie we were probably going in at the same time.'

Wasn't it 'The Cyclops' then?
Dont remmeber "cyclops", but the pool table.......
They moved the bar as well if I remember.
Used to be steaming in there on the way home,.....or having a few early slurps as we headed into town to get tanked up:p

The Linny for me in 86 as it was the only place I could get served. The Endeavour was my local and I became a regular in there for years once they would let me in (y)

Top House. Zetland Hotel
Middle House Clarendon first taste of old peculiar
Ship Inn

Then off to the Top Deck

Yes as you went in from Linthorpe Road there was a snug to your right. ,turn left for the bar and the bar was on the right hand side and was then moved to the left hand side as it is situated now for Swatters.

I dont remember cyclops was that at the back?

Happy days.

The Corporation Hotel, Friday nights with mates from school. Nice pint of "Double Diamond" ...."works wonders" didn't you know! Sadly, much of this no longer with us.

The Belford in Harrogate from about 1974/5. Cameron's. It's still a pub but has a different name now, having had changes of ownership and two 'makeovers'. It remained a regular until about two and a half years ago when the second change ruined it.

Pied Piper during the week , played darts for them , and yes I was rubbish.

Westminster or Albert Park match days, and the Linny after Kirby night school.

Just realised what a boring life I lived

Some blasts from the past on here
Early years in the 70's was Kings Head Seamer

Shout out to The Fountain tho - many a good night on a Friday in there in the 80's
Remember first time I took my missus and she came back from the toilet saying 'there are two women fighting in there' we all kind of shrugged our shoulders in a 'business as usual' kind of way.
