Hong Kong security law: China passes controversial legislation https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-53230391

It is set to criminalise secession, subversion and collusion with foreign forces, but will also effectively curtail protests and freedom of speech.

The move follows increasing unrest and a widening pro-democracy movement.

The law makes secession, subversion of the central government, terrorism or collusion with foreign forces punishable by up to life in prison.

USA try to surpress voting in the poorer areas, democracy be buggered, theyre as bad as the Chinese. Trump backed the use of the Muslim camps too.

Another day and more scary scenes filling up our tv screens.

btw anyone comparing this to the uk or the us are kidding themselves people in the uk don’t “disappear” but that’s what will happen here.

🖐🏼

n "Yep, its the same in the UK and the USA. - could you could find a country on the planet, that hasnt got it in their legislation.

With an independent judiciary yes. Problem is, China has a 99.9% conviction rate and the laws that have been drafted are so loose that anybody could be stitched up, extradited to the mainland and sent to a concentration camp. It also applies to foreigners too, so if you in some way or another supported the HK protests and been critical of the CCP, you better ensure the country you are in doesn't have an extradition treaty with China or else you could end up in a concentration camp yourself. The fact you're even including a totalitarian dictatorship with the west in the same post is ludicrous.

It didn't take long for the arrests to start, over 300 on the first day. Overnight the whole of HK how now become a police state. Facial recognition is now being implemented as with the rest of mainland China. The foreign minister of China Hua Chunying tweeted yesterday on the 99th anniversary of the founding of the CPP - China and the CCP are one, a criticism of China or its people is also a criticism of the CCP and those will be punished by law. I was discussing this with a friend just the other day, it stinks of the Enabling Act in Nazi Germany, civil rights are suspended and anybody who is perceived as an enemy of the state is detained and executed without trial.

And speaking of Nazi Germany. Over 13 tons of human hair was seized by US customs officials. The hair was allegedly taken from the Uighur concentration camps where up to 3 million still remain imprisoned and forcibly sterilising Uighur women giving them unwanted abortions in a mission to purge the Muslim minority.

Mitch, it seems the world only has an appetite for fighting shepherds and civilians for oil and poppy farms.

When it comes to protecting people from genocide and slaughter from a country that could fight them back they aren't interested. It's rotten.

Im not fully familiar with the details but the part where they can select judges is very unnerving.
